Most people say they want success, but when you ask them what success means you get wildly different responses. We recently asked some of the best and brightest in our community to tell us about how they define success and have shared their responses below.

I believe success is a moment of finding inner peace after reaching a goal – it isn’t a constant state that once achieved, is set for good. We all have these stresses in anticipation of reaching certain goals, and so the release of tension as a result of achieving them is what I believe success to be. I think this can be a loaded question for many, especially as we’ve all been subjected to societies definitions of what success should be or look like. I personally define success using growth, improvement and alignment as indicators. I feel successful if my efforts and how I’ve been investing my energy has caused me to grow/evolve as a person. I used to define success with vague images in my head of myself smiling smugly in a well tailored business suit, delegating tasks to others, running my own business that was turning a higher profit year after year.
