We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrienne McComack-Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrienne, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

I hope to inspire others through genuine kindness. 15% of all my earnings help to fuel my Community Kindness Campaign, thus equipping me with the opportunity to help those in need and make a positive difference, such as care kits for the homeless, veterans, or families that are struggling.

When I married my husband, in lieu of gifts, we asked our guests to do an act of kindness for those in need. My goal was to inspire others to do random or intentional acts of kindness throughout our community; thus, cultivating a meaningful transformation in the world around us.

With each mindful step, I want to create a culture movement, based on the belief that kindness is contagious and will generate positive change. In life, we all face diverse trials and tribulations. Yet we continue to search for rhythm and peace in our lives. Sometimes this means extending ourselves more self-compassion in what we are going through, but self-compassion is born from kind-heartedness. When we show ourselves kindness, we are far more likely to be kind to others around us.

Researchers at UC Berkeley found that people who were kind tend to have a higher self-esteem, greater self-efficiency, less depression, less anxiety, and improved physical health. Overall, scientists learned that people who were kind or regularly engaged in informal acts of kindness tend to have a higher well-being and are better equipped to face obstacles with strength, clarity, and calmness. As Jesse Jackson said, “Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping them up.”

This is my way of paying it forward and leaving a legacy. And this thought goes hand in hand with my photography; every moment captured becomes a timeless treasure.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Growing up as an Arizona Native, I was inspired by scenic landscapes and thus began my love of photography. I’ve come a long way since my high school pinhole-oatmeal-box camera. During the financial crisis of 2008, after the company I worked for closed their doors, I had to find a way to generate income to support my household as a single mother of two, at the time. I did photography and one referral led to another, blessing me with an opportunity to help meet my financial responsibilities and although I eventually went back into the 8-5 workforce, I always kept a burning desire to return to my passion of photography.

Now, as a Lifestyle Photographer, I can honestly say I love what I do and the amazing people I meet along the way. For me, photography is a poem without words that tells a story through imagery. So, in this regard, it is though I am the author capturing the chapters of various life stories such as the beauty of engagement, weddings, maternity, newborn, family and senior photography.

I have definitely experienced growing pains and learning curves in starting a new business, but the biggest lesson was letting go of self-doubt and ignoring the naysayers. You just have to take a leap of faith and believe in yourself; moving forward everyday with confidence and vigor.

Some say it’s a tie between my creative living room worthy photos, signature customer service and my big hair that leaves an impression! But what I am most known for are the timeless portraits generated by guidance and a comfortable atmosphere. My personal key to success is infectious energy, and a dash of quirky humor, which invites natural smiles and promotes personalities to shine.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

My favorite places in the beautiful city of Prescott would include the majestic boulders that frame Watson Lake, Willow Lake and the Granite Dells. Whether you are hiking, biking, camping or canoeing (Born To Be Wild Adventures, Tours & Rentals), these areas lend a playground to the child that resides in each of us. I also love the smell of the pine trees after the rain, so a drive to Goldwater Lake or Lynx Lake is also on my list of places to reset, enjoy simply and connect with nature.

Or for the faster pace, the stores that surround the Courthouse Plaza, such as the Whiskey Row shops will certainly uncover unique trinkets and treasures. Yet, it’s the history and charm that lures travelers. So, if you are a history buff, come visit the Sharlot Hall or Phippen Museum and learn more about the wild, wild west. Interestingly enough, Prescott is also home of the World’s Oldest Rodeo! Talk about action!

To warm up, I find a cozy corner at Wild Iris and watch the steam mist from the chai latte held in my hands. And if it’s cheat day, a chocolate pastry is also enjoyed with my company. The Porch also offers an open space to enjoy conversation and your favorite coffee, scones or quiche. And if a hearty breakfast is requested, Be Simple, Waffles N’ More or the Dinner Bell are on the list of must haves! For tapas, my favorite is El Gato Azul, but don’t forget to make reservations. A lunch establishment that never disappoints is BiGA, a farm fresh feel, with healthy vegetarian options and a modern vibe. The Raven Café and Park Plaza Deli also have a mouth-watering menu. If you are on the move, Taco Don’s (drive-thru or sit down) is full of flavor and filling.

But if you are in the mood for Italian, LaBruzza’s Italian Ristorante is a hidden gem, and every bite is delicious! Or located downtown is Bills Pizza, Rosa’s Pizzeria, or switch it up at Red, White and Brew, Farm Provisions, The FINN or Chai’s Thai Prescott for a locally owned, mom and pop place. For signature drinks, nothing beats The Point Bar and Lounge… It is definitely on point (pardon the pun) in all aspects of atmosphere and quality!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My Shoutout would go to my amazing family, friends and clients. My husband, William, is a Wealth Manager and he is very passionate about educating his clients on various ways to secure their future. My son, Anthony, who is an accomplished Community Paramedic provides exceptional care and a sense of calm in difficult medical situations. My daughter, ShyAnn, is a skilled Veterinarian Technician assisting in all aspects of care from household pets to exotic animals. All of whom are driven by compassion and a sense of responsibility to give back. And speaking of giving back, I always gain inspiration from my four grandchildren Sutton, Brielle, Cassius, and Merrick who continuously give love and endless smiles. They are a pocketful of sunshine!

It’s the love of family and the longing to create memories that drives me to do more every day. I feel exceptionally blessed to have such an incredible, loving support system.
