We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Talty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I started my career I didn’t think too much about work life balance and thought that I could do it all. Now I know how important things like exercise and down time are to my writing process, so I try to incorporate that into my daily schedule.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most of my writing focuses on the environment, looking specifically at food production either on land or on the sea.
My biggest project to-date is a nonfiction book on farming. It’s become my labor of love over the past few years. I am determined to make 2022 the year that it comes into the world!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite cafes in Phoenix is La Grande Orange – amazing salads, sandwiches and everything in-between. Visiting the Biltmore’s grounds is also a must.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Vanessa Rivers of We Are Travel Girls for first introducing me to Voyage Phoenix. We connected over our love of travel, surf and writing. I love women who support other women and Vanessa is the ultimate example of this.
