We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alison, how does your business help the community?
My business level’s the playing field so that financial independence is available to everyone. I am committed to supporting our community in stopping the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck and allowing money to control their lives. I teach simple principles that with a little self discipline, anyone can follow. We, as a society, get coached in so many aspects of our life; physical health, mental health, business, spirituality, etc. When we ignore our financial health then nothing else really matters. We can be a yogi or a marathon runner but if we are worried about paying the electric bill then our bodies are flooded with cortisol and we get sick. All that I do is teach people how to use money and love people instead of loving money and using people.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started life with an art degree and a learning disability in Math. I spent my entire life living paycheck to paycheck, drowning in debt and feeling like a complete failure. I met a man in Sam’s Club of all places and he said that he was looking for people to work at his financial firm.

I heard the word finance and immediately shut down. I knew that I was dumb with money and even worse, my whole social circle knew it too. I took his card and then threw it away.

During that time I was in hell. Living with a verbally abusive husband who was controlling and miserable. My girls had a lot of trauma from growing up with a man who yelled and raged at them constantly. I had to get out of there.

In a moment of shear determination, I hunted this guy down. I went in for an interview. I had padded my resume and decided to fake it until I made it. That was June 2019. I was living in hell. My kids were living in hell and we had to get this man out of our lives.

He saw right through me, I don’t have a great poker face. He said to me, “As long as you are a good person, want to help people, have integrity and are a good student. I can teach you the rest.”

I threw my lot in with him, he mentored me and by February of 2020 I was fully licensed. Oh, and my now ex-husband was out of my house in January of 2020.

My entire purpose now is to help others in the same situation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Tucson is so beautiful. If I had a friend in town, I would take them to my favorite restaurant Taqueriua Juanitos. They have the best tacos in town. I would make sure that we went to the Desert Museum and Sabino Canyon as well. The artist in me loves to tour the murals all over town, so that would be on the intinary. The monument at sunset has the best views and is a great place to take photos. Some other favorite restaurants are Wild Garlic Grill, The Cup Cafe and PY Steakhouse at the casino.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my coach Ernie Escarcega who poured in to me, He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Sasha Czyzewski for making me a better coach and a better person. Sasha is the most incredible teacher that I’ve ever met and she can take what i want to say and reframe it in a loving way. Felecia Cota, she is the glue that holds my business together and i, along with my clients, cannot live without her. Lastly, my girls: Jordan, Rylee, Rorie, Zoe and Talia who never complain about my long hours and constantly tell me how proud that they are of me. THEY are my WHY.
