We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Cahill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am originally from the Kansas City area, and I have lived in many parts of the Country after graduating from college. We moved to Scottsdale 18 years ago and never want to leave. I grew up with strong mid-western values meaning that one’s word and reputation were everything. I was brought up in a family with a strong work ethic and with an entrepruenial spirit. My great grandfather arrived in the US with just a couple dollars after most of his family had passed. He built a very successful business on his own. His story has always inspired me. Our family had a couple family businesses that I helped with starting at the age of 12. One of those businesses was land development which peaked my interest in investing in real estate.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is my strong work ethic, perseverance and focusing on doing what is fair and just. I started out as a high school French teacher with aspirations to go to law school It took me 7 years to save up enough money to go to law school and to not worry about student loans. I am so happy I was able to practice law, but also step back to raise our children. During the years raising our children, I obtained my real estate license to start investing in properties to help make some passive income for our family. This turned into a career that is always exciting, challenging and different every day. I am still buying and selling real estate investment properties, but highly focused on the luxury sector. This allows me to use my creativity in marketing some stellar properties. I also stepped into the role as Designated Broker approximately two years ago which has been a huge growth opportunity. I am using my legal knowledge to both negotiate, write, and help other agents with contracts. I love helping not only my clients, but the agents in our brokerage grow their businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Love this question as I absolutely love Scottsdale, Phoenix and Northern Arizona…I would start with a morning of hiking in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, grab some coffee and breakfast at Little Snitch in North Scottsdale. Come home and swim a bit and read a good book. Then, go grab dinner and drinks at Isabella’s or The All American. The following day, plays some golf at Grayhawk Golf Club with lunch at Phil’s Grill. Then, back to our pool to relax and maybe cookout enjoying a night eating under the starry sky. The following day, another hike, and then to downtown Phoenix for some sushi at Sake Haus followed by a concert at the Van Buren. Then, I would take my best friend to Sedonna for more hiking and dinner at Mariposa. The following day, head to Flagstaff to ski for a couple days at Snowbowl. With just a day left, we would end the adventure in North Scottsdale at Bartlett Lake kayaking and paddle boarding with a picnic lunch on the water.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family has been a huge part of my story and success. Starting with my mother who was a huge inspiration to me. She found great success despite having some difficult obstacles in her way. My father too helped me gain success by never allowing me to quit and to always persevere. My brother has always been there for me. In addition, my children have been not only supportive and understanding of my career, but also very inspirational to me in what they accomplished starting at very young ages. They continue to follow their dreams. And then, there is my husband who is hugely supportive and pushes me to be better everyday.
