We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Heger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what makes you happy? Why?

My family is my number one priority. Seeing my family healthy, happy and succeeding in life is the foundation of my happiness. My life has been an interesting journey, but the key driving force was to make my family proud and provide for them the way they deserve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I have always been artistic, but over the years of throwing myself into my career, I lost touch with my creative side. During the day, I’m a Registered Nurse who oversees a very busy family practice clinic. My career has always focused on helping the most vulnerable, underserved populations in our communities. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse and help people, but with that also comes immense stressors. The last year and a half more than ever since COVID-19 hit. I needed to find an outlet for my stress. One day I just decided “I’m gonna make a cup!” I had no idea what I was doing…I watched numerous tutorials and then gathered my supplies. That first cup took me forever, but I was so proud of the outcome, but even more excited about how relaxed and “in the zone” I felt while making it. This was the perfect destressor after a long day in the clinic. I never even intended to start my own business! I was so proud of that first cup, I posted a picture on social media and it took off!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Oh my goodness, this is a great question! We are somewhat new to Arizona ourselves and I feel like we are still uncovering so many places and adventures! One thing for sure…we would HAVE to hit up a Phoenix Suns game at the Footprint Center. We would definitely wander around Old Town Scottsdale, Fashion Square Mall, hike the White Tank Mountains and visit the Botanical Gardens. As for food…my husband and I once ate at the Barrio Cafe in downtown Phoenix. We were obsessed with the flavors, so that would be a definite place to eat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I definitely want to shout out to my husband and daughter. Without their love and support, my dreams and successes would not have been possible. There were countless hours where my husband was handling everything from housework, taking care of our daughter, making dinner, school pickups and drop offs…you name it, he did it all while also working his own full time job…while I was either in the other room studying or away on long weekends at school.

My grandparents also played a huge role in who I am today. They always showed me love and support and taught me to shoot for my dreams. Growing up they were my biggest cheerleaders, which kept me grounded and focused on never disappointing them.
