Meet Ana Ita | Cosmetologist & Business Owner

Hi Ana, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m first generation, American born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. My family is originally from Baghdad, Iraq. From a young age, I saw how hard my parents hustled to create a new life filled with opportunities for my siblings and I.

Their work ethic and high standards showed me that anything is possible. As my father would always say “if you try. it will happen, you can do anything you desire to do.”

My parents came to America with no money, and English being their third language, they created a beautiful life for us. They were truly my role models who showed me that anything is possible and to not limit myself.

I have learned to take risks and follow my dreams as well as push my boundaries and challenge myself. Which inspired me to start my own business and move across the country to seek other opportunities.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My passion and dedication to play several roles of my company sets me apart, such as being the Creator of Ana Stylez LLC, Product Manufacturer of TAMED beauty line & Cosmetologist to a thriving clientele.

What I’m proud of the most is my TAMED hair care line. I hand crafted a formula for a shampoo & conditioner that includes all natural oils.

I created this product to solve my hair breakage and dryness after going from a level 1 jet black to a level 9 platinum blonde. When My clients saw my hair transformation they just had to have the product for themselves! I then realized I created a special product that others needed. TAMED works wonders for all hair types & textures!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever I have friends or family visiting, as soon as I pick them up from the airport we always stop at in-n-out and head to South Mountain to enjoy the beautiful Phoenix scenery, we also love to stop and check out the Mystery Castle! A must see is Old-Town Scottsdale, there’s many great restaurants, bars and shops. There are so many different things to do in Arizona, from hiking to fine dining and sight seeing…there are options here for everyone!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my sister, Rawan Ita-Diaz, who is the Creator of Project Therapaint.

She has guided me through all the steps of my goals & ideas, which helped me bring it to real life.

My sister is also the designer behind my brand, she was the artist who designed my labels and my website.

With the guidance of my sister I was able to expand my professional career. We always joke and call her my “momager” haha. I love having such an intelligent sister that can be the book smart to my street smart.
