We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Holguin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, what inspires you?
Sneakers. The entire culture

What should our readers know about your business?
Well we are just a sneaker reselling business hoping to bring something new and alive to our community. We live in a much smaller city up north AZ called Prescott (Or Preskitt as they keep telling us). It’s a very tight knit, kind of retirement community. But none the less, there’s still a huge crowd out there ranging from ages 16-40, and along with ourselves, we have NO WHERE to buy any nice sneakers. We don’t get any hype type of stores up there, no Footlocker, no Champs, nothing. We recognized that, and being the sneakerheads that we are, HAD to do something about it. So we got rid of (SOLD) our personal collection together and were able to kind of have an inventory. By no means was it easy though. We both have children and work day jobs, so to put our own money into something we didn’t even know would work out. But being ourselves has really put out a good business for us. We’ve always been good and honest as we could be. People recognizing who we were and what we were trying to bring to our town really took off from there. We’ve leanered our community and how it works, we’ve gotten to understand what it would take for a business like this to stay alive out here and were rolling with it. We still have lots to learn and even more to accomplish, but we are determined to bring forth a store front to our community unlike any others in our area. Something fun, something chill and relaxed, something people WANT to be in and apart of. Hi.kix. Our name, our brand, all of it.
To have something that people rock with everyday.
And thats about it, we don’t care about profits, we don’t care to be famous for it. We just want to be great at what we’ve already started.
To be completely cliche, but completely homest… you really can accomplish whatever you set your mind to. It can happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would explore all of the amazing lakes we have. Scenery in our area is amazing. Lots of fish in lakes, open to kayaking. We also have amazing hiking trails. Downtown Prescott is rich in its history. There is a museum you can visit that entails a lot of old history about Prescott.
We also have lots of nice places to eat, from breakfast to brunch and also dinners.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to God, Jesus our Lord and savior! and a shout out to our people back home and the support they started us with to get us to where we are now and still striving for each and everyday.
