We had the good fortune of connecting with Anicka Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anicka, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Healthy risk is important.

Two good questions to ask when deciding if an activity is appropriate for you are, “What’s the worst thing that could happen?” and “What’s the best thing that could happen?”

Do an assessment and take a chance on things that you believe in and that bring joy. It is not just important to do what you love but also to do what people want to pay you for. I love creating beauty products and recently expanded to doing more with technology. I created Eneka Media as an outlet for myself to utilize my skills in business, media and website creation. I expanded with the vision of sharing my skills in technology with those need it in AZ and beyond. I created Eneka Elements with the vision of formulating products that would benefit those in dry climates like me. Beauty and technology are where I take the most healthy risks. I enjoy taking a chance on myself and going for my goals.

If I had never taken the risk to start my own businesses and become an entrepreneur I would still be reading editorials instead of writing them.

Take a chance on yourself! It is worth it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As an Entrepreneur & Self-Care Advocate I have had my share of experiences. Yet, I rise to the occasion every time. When you learn something after trials and tribulation, you always win. The key is to find the lesson and the seed meant to make you stronger and wiser. I have had to get through computer issues, supply line issues and delays, and much more in business. Life keeps going, and so do I, with gratitude.

Eneka Elements | New Etsy Store

With my company Eneka Elements I focus on clean beauty made for people who live in dry climates. Using ingredients from Africa to Arizona. I formulate simple and pure products made for people who fight against the drying affects of every day elements and focus on products that make a positive impact on skin and hair. If you feel good, everything else flows. I am so thankful to have products I can use in the morning and night to keep my skin radiant and my hair healthy and long. I have had a goal of waist length hair and have achieved it recently. I create a Legendary experience with everything from self-care products to advocacy with Eneka Elements. The Self-Care Phoenix and Fitness

The Self-Care element is vital to my life and helps me relate as I listen to people who come to me for guidance. It is so important to meet someone where they are. I highlight and seek out goals that are attainable. I am very into habit stacking. Habit stacking is the easiest way to make new habits last. Fitness is a big part of my lifestyle. It gives me energy and focus to go past my limits. I post a lot about fitness goals and mental strength on my social media platforms. It is not just about pretty self-care like baths and face masks. It is also about keeping my heart healthy and my body too. 

Running and weight training have been so fulfilling in my fitness journey. I see my body transforming and getting stronger. I have my tools that have helped me. One is going to the gym at the same time each workout session. It creates community and routine. An added bonus is you see familiar faces of others who are also doing a consistent routine. Also, tracking my progress in a journal or app helps to stay accountable to my goals. My main ingredient for success, is to be consistent and the results will come. Goddess Energy and Crowns

I am so happy to showcase my Goddess crowns and Halo head pieces in my shop on Etsy. They are gold and add a stunning pop to any date night outfit. If you enjoy unique pieces that have a showstopper energy for festivals and fun events check them out. I love to see people shine and especially when they are not afraid to show the world they are beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so work it! When you care about something you treat it well. I wear my Goddess crowns often and get compliments all the time. When I am 100% myself, it gives permission for others to do the same in my presence. Authenticity is my happy place. My halo headpiece is a visual full circle reminder to me that it took a lot of people to get me here, to where I am today, and I choose to honor them by living well and walking in my light.

Photography and Modeling

Recently, I have been focusing on my love for product photography and modeling. I enjoy expanding my knowledge in how to get good lighting and angles. I shoot my product photography and have been involved with more modeling projects, both personally and in business. Networking and engaging with local businesses and photographers has expanded my life in so many ways. I am almost 6 feet tall, so, I believe, I was made to model. It is never too late to do what you love. What you seek is seeking you.

My last shoot was one with huge angel wings and it was such a fun experience. When you work with fun and energetic photographers it makes such a big difference. I have worked with Kayla a few times and it always is a blast. I stepped out of my comfort zone with that shoot and the pictures turned out fabulous. Nothing better than having fun and fulfilling your dreams when you get the opportunity.

I feel like in this day in age we all need to do what we love and enjoy every moment of our lives possible. If you are too comfortable, you are not growing.
