Meet Anne Curry | Real Estate Investor and Founder of Anne Curry Homes

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a young mom, I was earning $5 an hour cleaning houses and teaching preschool while my husband worked in the nonprofit world. We got married young, knowing that his calling likely meant we’d never earn enough to own a home. When we got married, we had a candid conversation with each other where we just said, “With our career paths and income, we have to be ok with never owning a home.” As I had my own kids though, I would always have a wondering thought of how I was ever going to afford to put them through college.
Everything changed the day I met a mentor who owned 50 single-family rental properties. When I heard what he did for a living, something clicked inside of me – I just knew real estate was the vehicle that could change my family’s financial future. That mentor took me under his wing and helped me get my real estate license. He taught me how to buy, renovate, and sell my first few properties. Because of his belief in me, I set the goal of one day owning 50 single-family homes, and about a decade ago, I accomplished that goal in a single transaction.
Starting my own business was about more than just real estate. It was about building freedom, stability, and legacy not just for my own family, but for others who had ever been told they’d never be able to afford a home. Today, I run a team at Anne Curry Homes in Tacoma, WA and manage over $20 million in real estate holdings. My business is about helping others achieve the very thing I was once told I never could.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Anne Curry Homes is more than a real estate company, it’s a mission to help the person that I once was. My team and I help clients buy, sell, and invest in real estate with a focus on long-term wealth building. Because I started as an investor, and I have investors on my team, I bring a financial lens to every transaction, whether someone’s buying their first home or their fifth rental.
I’m especially proud of the free wealth-building events we host and the mentorship program I lead, where I work directly with people who once thought homeownership was out of reach. My team and I live and preach by, “Get Rich Slow”, ensuring we teach our clients to invest wisely, hold onto properties, and think generationally. Real wealth isn’t built overnight, it’s built through discipline, vision, and time.
One of my clients was living on food stamps and riding their bike to work when we met—they now own multiple rental properties. That’s what excites me: helping others rewrite their story, just like I did. And no, it wasn’t easy. There were slumps, market shifts, and moments of self-doubt. But I always came back to my why. When you stay rooted in purpose, you can overcome anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My perfect day in Phoenix and Scottsdale is getting coffee at Four Till Four (especially on a Saturday morning for their car show!), hiking Camelback Mountain, going to the Uptown Farmer’s Market, eating at Flower Child, Blanco Tacos, Doughbird, or Trevor’s and working at The Global Ambassador. There are so many amazing things to do in the area, but those are my top favorites!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who’ve helped me get where I am today. That first mentor, of course – he not only introduced me to real estate but believed in me before I even believed in myself. He invested so much of what he knew into me, and I really owe him so much.
My husband has also been my support through every big decision and every season of uncertainty. I will never forget when he came home from work the night before we were going to close on our first flip project, and I was sitting on the stairs crying. He asked me what was wrong, and I told him I was terrified that this first flip would fail and that we would go bankrupt. He responded to me, “Anne, I would rather have us go bankrupt than you not try.”
