We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie F. Sharp and Holly F. Jones of One Hundred Chairs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie and Holly, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
A detail often overlooked or underappreciated is the extraordinary amount of work that goes on behind the scenes in order to get all of the unique specialty items to their event appearance. Items are hand selected for just the right fit, then carefully cleaned, packed and transported. Then comes the process of styling the pieces with a skilled eye at the event. The pretties get enjoyed and help make the memories but don’t forget all the work involved in the undoing, clean-up process…! The expanse of work and care required still can’t out shadow the beauty and uniqueness specialty aesthetic items can bring to any type of celebration.

One of the services we can provide our clients is being able to allow them to have special pieces, curated looks and memorable moments while alleviating much the work. This in turn allows them to realize their event dreams while eliminating many extra to-do items! While many may have the ability to purchase and gather items, as well as a crew of helpful hands to set up, we have learned that having this piece of an event puzzle entrusted to a professional allows for more than just a task to be marked off. It also allows for the host to have more energy and time to enjoy the planning process as well as be able to relish in the event and soak in all the memories come the day of. The value of the services a company like One Hundred Chairs can provide is often not fully realized by our clients until after the last guest has gone home and the event dust has settled.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One Hundred Chairs is a local, family owned, rental company specializing in unique furniture and décor for weddings, parties, events and any other moment of merriment. Along with our vintage finds and specialty items we offer design services to help make our client’s events distinctly their own as well as event styling that will transform any space into something magical and memorable.

One of our biggest joys is being able to walk alongside our clients with our experience and expertise to help them consider and plan out the aesthetic elements of their events. Even more so, we thrive when we can execute all of the aesthetic details with our detailed styling services. The ability to focus on this aspect of events is what we have found it takes to help turn a great occasion into an extraordinary event.

Times of celebration make for some of life’s best memories. Being able to look back and reminisce on all the details that were poured into the special time makes those memories all the sweeter. Not only have we found this to be true for our clients, but we have also found it to be true for us as professional; talk about a fantastic job perk! Being able to help create stand out moments and memories, that we, as professionals, can look back and share with our clients continues to be one of our driving forces. Our dedication to the details can be a very tricky part of our business, but time again, proves to be one of the most rewarding parts in the end. This is also largely why we have intentionally decided to be more than ‘just a rental company’. We choose to thrive as a boutique, niche market company that not only offers rental pieces but also provides options for additional specialty services

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Prescott exudes a special hometown comfort with its own kind of fun and scenery not found other places. While there are so many great spots to soak up in Prescott, perhaps the better question is not necessarily where but when? Some of our favorite memories are made during the sweet summertime activities surrounding the 4th of July and the World’s Oldest Rodeo. Another time Prescott shines is during the month of December and all of the festivities that can be found in Arizona’s Christmas City. Truly, time spent enjoying the sights and sounds of the Courthouse Square is a delight – especially on the perfectly warm summer evenings or in the fall under the changing leaves. The downtown area seems to serve as the heart of Prescott, with versatile and unique shopping, places to stroll, historic things to see, and outdoor adventures awaiting within minutes. Sprinkling in yummy meals at any number of our locally owned, diverse restaurants is always suggested!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Truly, our shoutout is probably most deserved by the good ol’ hometown of Prescott, Arizona. As 3rd generation Prescott natives, we have had the privilege to grow up in and be shaped by the places and people of ‘Everyone’s Hometown.’ We were fortunate to be able to learn alongside many of our family members who were prominent business owners and professionals, as well as community contributors. The knowledge gained and relationships built throughout these experiences are some of our greatest gifts. To now own our own business in the same community feels as if the circle is reaching completion. It is a rarity, yet one of our joys, that we live and work in a town where, by in large, there is more of a spirit of comradery, with a desire to work together towards success, opposed to pure competition. Word of mouth and a willingness to provide superior customer service still thrives here and we are grateful to be both on the receiving and giving end! We are so thankful that we now have the opportunity to be contributing members of our community as we develop other professional relationships with our business connections (and we find these often lead to friendships!)
