We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Myti Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio Myti, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Great question! My thought process always starts with asking myself, “What am I passionate about?” Then “What am I passionate about that someone would pay me for?” My mom always told me, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day”. So starting with what I’m passionate about that I can get paid for is the starting point. Also, finding a mentor. Someone who’s successful and has been in my shoes that I can learn from. Then it’s about developing a business plan and executing the plan with consistent action. And to open minded… ALWAYS BE A STUDENT and keep learning about my craft so I can be the BEST!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most definitely. I’m a working actor as well as a health and fitness coach. What sets me apart is definitely my Kobe-like work ethic. I’m always a student of the game so I’m constantly learning and applying my knowledge to both fields. Learning from mentors is the key for me being where I’m at today. I used to watch my dad, accomplished bodybuilder Larry Frank, as a little boy in the gym, when he trained clients and talked to them. I gathered so much knowledge from his indirect teaching, and from researching fitness and nutrition myself. And through primarily my personality and word of mouth, I’ve built my clientele so I’m currently under the mentorship of Coach Malik Mohammed of Online Fitness Pros, who’s teaching me how to expand my fitness business. I’m super proud of my friends Robert “Grizz” Becton and Erin Anderson. So far I’ve helped Robert lose 60 pounds and helped Erin lose 50. As an actor, I received training in modeling and acting with John Casablancas Modeling & Talent Agency. I met my current friend, mentor and also working actor Cory J. Presley on set of “Mister Edison’s Night School”, a comedy web series on YouTube and we’ve done the independent film “Rescued”. He’s showing me the ropes on understanding the acting world and tactics of keeping my motivation. Was getting where I’m at professionally, an easy road? NO! It’s a bumpy road with potholes and detours. But I’ve learned, remembering WHY I’m doing it, is what keeps me in the game. Providing a better life and Showing my son She’rod that he can accomplish ANYTHING is my WHY! I’ve learned success is NOT a straight line and that anything worth having in the long run, is NOT easy, but it’s WORTH IT! I want the world to be INSPIRED by my story and brand so they too, can take action and live in their passion!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh they’re here for a week? I got it! We’ll catch Sensational Sundays (@sensationalsundays), an open mic event, on Central Ave. I’ll take them to Westgate and go to The Yard or Salt to eat and Fat Tuesdays to get a drink. We’re going to Poetic Soul at Dwntwn and Adult Game Night on Central Ave on Wednesday. We must definitely have to go to Gen Korean BBQ at Tempe Marketplace! And then go to Stand Up Live or Tempe Improv to catch some laughs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother, Dr. Danita Pirtle, has been and still is a monumental pillar in my success. She helped instill a confidence in me that I thought I didn’t have. Her undying support has helped me develop the MINDSET to do ANYTHING I set my mind to, since I was a little boy. She deserves so much credit. Her love, support and encouragement have helped propel me to be a success and I’m eternally grateful. I thank God for blessing me with my mom.
