Meet Ariel Berger | Dog Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariel Berger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariel, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life” is a popular piece of advice that can create unrealistic expectations. Even the things you love doing will come with challenges, frustrations, and stresses—and turning your passion into a viable career brings its own set of difficulties. I much prefer the advice “do what you love, and work hard at it.” Every job requires work, but a job that aligns with your passion and values makes the work worthwhile.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Charm School for Dogs offers professional dog training services based in Tucson, Arizona. What sets us apart is our modern, progressive training methods, our high standard of professionalism and reliability, and our highly personalized approach. No two dogs or households are the same, so training plans are tailored to each unique situation. In addition to standard lesson and board and train programs, we also offer a popular one-of-a-kind program where clients can send their dogs on a weekly adventure for training and exercise in different settings.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Tucson has an incredible variety of trails within a short drive! From Sonoran desert to mountains to open range, easy to difficult and everything in between, there are lots of great options to choose from.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m love to take the chance to shoutout to my former employer, Crystal Blaker, who serves an exceptional role model for navigating the challenging of running a business with grace and respect for yourself, your clients, and their canine companions. I’m also grateful to the many incredible dog trainers I’ve had the privilege of meeting, training with, and learning from throughout my journey. Each person has taught me something valuable and contributed to my growth and perspective as a dog trainer.
