We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashanti Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashanti, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am a Phoenician! Born and raised in Arizona, I grew up with my loving and dedicated parents, 3 siblings and a host of furry animals. Growing up my parents were very involved with church and the community. That is where my desire to serve started wether it was making sandwiches for the homeless or passing out toys at Christmas. They set the foundation for my siblings and I to always look out for each other and installed that it takes a village. Growing up I was involved with Girl Scouts I started as a brownie and ended as a troop leader. These experiences impacted who I am today, because of my family , faith and experiences I’ve lived.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Bey’s Blessings is a community based non-profit organization that brings care and empathy to families and individuals experiencing homelessness by providing blessing bags and resources.

Bey’s Blessings vision is to transition from providing the unsheltered with blessing bags to providing a space for those in the community to gain confidence and security. By having a resource center where anyone can come in and get their basic needs met such as a food, hygiene supplies and restrooms with showers. In addition to logistical needs such as birth certificates, drivers license and identification cards. A place where individuals can learn trades and obtain courses to further their education.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
