Meet Ashley Paige | Model & Model Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Paige and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk, with discernment and caution, is an essential part of being an entrepreneur- human really. It allows you to break certain barriers you may have (or haven’t) noticed. I can recall a few moments where the risk taking value fed into both life and career. Naturally I have always been a shy individual, but the drive and passion I carry for modeling always pushed me out of certain comfort zones that I knew were essentially holding me back in a way.
I ended up back in the Midwest, shooting as a featured extra for a few seasons of Empire on Fox. On a whim I seen the casting, applied knowing I had no money, time and security lined up had I been accepted. Eventually it all was taken care of and I continued to return for 3 of their seasons. (Can include photo?)
Taking risks allowed me to walk in shows and assists on sets I only talked to God about. Ultimately, it’s all Him.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art consist professionally of modeling. Almost two decades in the industry, I had to break away and find ME. My niche. The last four years, I dedicated myself to myself and God. That time allowed me to unlearn some things and regain knowledge that would be valuable when considering to enlighten others in any capacity. This is what I believe sets me apart. Although I had tenure under my belt, I didn’t initially feel that the confidence needed, when in larger groups and positions, was instilled just yet. I had no reservations about making sure I presented the best of who I am as a person and a brand.
In turn, when I am coaching I like to take a customizable approach. I take on what they’re already aware of and comfortable with and apply tips and structure that allows their personality to build their confidence.
I have had so many opportunities come into fruition this year and I give all Glory to God. I am excited to have walked for Arizona Fashion Week a few times this year, after years of going to castings and never making the cut. I had the goal and never took my eyes off of it. This June, I will be walking for the BET Awards Fashion Show in Los Angeles featuring designers Angel Brinks, Winnie StaCkz and Von Dutch. I am elated to be a part of something that combines a passion of mine and a part of my growing up, in watching Black Entertainment Television.
It took a lot a faith and risk to get to where I am professionally. In 2016 and 2017 I was a recurring extra on Fox’s Empire. Taking that first trip to Chicago was purely on a whim. I seen the casting, applied without telling anyone. Got my callback and immediately needed to make arrangements for my first born and financial necessities! I had never traveled alone before and hadn’t been back to Chicago since I moved as a child. It wasn’t easy, however I made sure to make every moment count and meet as many people as I could. Getting comfortable networking as an introvert.
Eventually what I noticed to be the hardest part was mental. The self sabotage as an entrepreneur is something I’m sure we have all encountered. There’s so many ways one can cope and adjust to that and for me- accepting that some things, people and places that no longer serve you or your higher purpose, fall and change when you ask God to step in. Getting through that and making my outer circumstances match my inner development.
If there is anything I’d like people to know about me and my brand, AshleyPaige The Model Coach, subsidiary of The LewkBook llc -is that I am genuine and trusting in the work I have and will have. There’s a foundation I have set within me that allows me to ‘find a need, fill a need’ and adhere to the importance of mental health/wealth while gaining applicable training in the model realm.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am so open to new adventures and experiences in this phase of my life. Although I have yet to visit a few of these locations, they come highly recommended amongst close peers! If you are an early riser and a lover of nature, there are a plethora of trails with beautiful mountainous views, colorful skies and obviously a great workout! Sedona is also a great place I enjoy visiting for the peace and views of it all.
Brunch has been a huge success in the Valley, Brunch Problems, Brunch House and Breakfast Club are a few favs that have some of the best flavors.
Top Golf and Main Event are two top hot spots for fun as well- definitely taps into my competitive side.
Rooftop Bars & Eateries happen to be quite popular as it warms up as well, of course the sunset is the best part of the experience.
Dinner can go as local or as upscale as you please! I’m a lover of Baby Kay’s for some delectable Cajun entree’s. We do have fine dining experiences throughout the city, Steak44, Ocean44, Nobu and so much more.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Msssss Tasha! My mommy. She has been my BIGGEST fan, in a real way for my entire modeling career. She never questioned it, I flowed right into this position at 12 years old, began coaching at 14. She built my siblings and I up on a foundation that allows me to be the woman I’ve grown to be. Her love, encouragement, example of both grace and resilience and ESPECIALLY THE LAUGHTER are just the few reasons why she deserves this shoutout out and much much more. I love you !
