We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlye Justus and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlye, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to control my own life, I love what I do and I have such a passion for the cosmetology industry that I decide to become a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor to help other young woman find their path in life and build a career.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m in the beauty industry because I love to create, and I have found a way to help people feel more confident with beautiful hair and skin. I’m most proud of my ability to persevere and continue to grow in this career learning new trends and techniques to perfect my skills and the integrity I have in the services I provide.
I’m most excited for the future of my business, I have learned a lot through the years about professionalism and setting myself up for success.
It has not been easy, doing hair has always come natural to me, however, I just survived an emergency brain tumor resection surgery in February this year, and thought my career was over. I didn’t know what life was going to be like after that. but through the love and support of everyone around me and my own strength and courage to not give up I have blossomed into an amazing mother, wife, friend, and businesswoman, that I didn’t know was possible. I’ve overcome challenges in this career by not giving up, continuing to practice and learn.
What I want people to know about my brand is that I’m committed to doing the best job to make my clients happy and satisfied. My biggest concern is maintaining the health of my client’s hair and skin.
What I want the world to know about me is that I never gave up, no matter what.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A few beautiful places I would take someone visiting Arizona would be Top of the rock restaurant in Tempe. Amazing food, and a beautiful view at night. Dillons at Western Ranch in Morristown, they have live music great bar b que and fun activities to do while you hang out. First Friday Roosevelt Row, its full of art, life and creativity. South Mountain park, and Apache Lake.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to first recognize my husband and son; they are the light in my eye and the reason I work hard to be better me every day. Second, I want to Recognize Steve and Valerie Mapua, for believing in me and helping me start my business, they are two wonderful people and I’m so grateful to have them in my family’s life.
