Meet Aubree Lee | Holistic Health Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aubree Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aubree, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from a small town in Minnesota where I grew up on a farm. Eating healthy local food from our gardens and my connection and reverence for nature has come from this upbringing. When I was 9, I ended up getting so sick. It would then proceed to take 10 years to finally receive an explanation which was a diagnosis with Lyme disease. For much of my childhood, I lived with chronic migraines, arthritis symptoms, chronic fatigue, and horrible stomach pains. At 14, I discovered that certain foods exacerbated my negative symptoms. If it weren’t for whole, fresh organic produce and unprocessed foods, I am convinced my symptoms would have been much worse.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I would say that the best gift I was given was getting sick. As ironic as it sounds, without Lyme disease, I have reason to believe that I would not have pursued a career in nutrition at all. It was the quest to find healing that sent me on this journey, and I am so thankful to have studied nutrition. I see it as valuable for the quality of my life, my future children, and my clients.
Learning that nutrition and my diet could not only make me feel better but also was necessary for healing my body made me want to pursue a career in nutrition. In 2013, attended the American College of Health Sciences for a certification in Holistic Nutrition. This program teaches the science of Food Therapy, a specific method which uses food as medicine for its medicinal properties. This program also taught Ancient and Traditional Nutrition methods for health and healing. Fast forward to now, I am creating my health coaching career designed to teach these traditional nutrition therapies to others to help people develop healthy lifestyles.
My coaching program offers Traditional Nutrition Methods for those looking to start or maintain a healthy lifestyle. I also have a program that helps women sync their diet and lifestyle to their female hormone cycle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Arizona and the winter weather is especially my favorite since I come from the freezing cold of Minnesota. If my best friend came to visit me, I would start with an early morning hike at Echo Trail on Camelback. We would then go to Kaleidoscope Juice or Clean Juice for a fresh organic smoothie or juice. We go to Lux Central in downtown Phoenix for a delicious honey latte, and spend the morning reading and studying. Lunch would be at True Food Kitchen located in Scottsdale Quarter. I know I would order the Vegan Butternut Squash Soup to start, followed by a Grass-fed burger, lettuce wrapped with a side of sweet potato hash. We would make our way to Waterfront in Tempe and walk the board walk along Tempe Town Lake. Late afternoon, we’d spend time shopping the quant boutiques of Old Town Scottsdale. Dinner would be at Farm and Craft Scottsdale, a small bistro with fresh, organic food options. My favorite is the Salmon Poke bowl with raw salmon, quinoa, pickled cucumber and other veggies with avocado and jalapeno slaw. I would order this with an organic iced hibiscus green tea. We would end the night at Wine Girl Scottsdale for a peaceful night cap.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The book In the Flo: Unlock Your Hormonal Advantage and Revolutionize Your Life by Alisa Vitti sparked my own journey and discovery of the cycle syncing method. This method combines the science of the female hormone cycle with traditional nutrition to determine the best foods to eat during each phase of the cycle. Syncing your lifestyle and diet to your cycle can greatly enhance your life and wellbeing as a woman. Alisa dives into the male-centered culture and lifestyle we currently live in and how it has affected women in a negative way. We have been taught that we are cursed with PMS and painful menstrual symptom that need to be suppressed with medications and drugs and for many of us, we are taught very little about the gifts of our cycle and how-to live-in synchronicity with it. I desire to coach women in this method to support hormone balance.
