We had the good fortune of connecting with Baely and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Baely, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to live on through my artistic expression. My music is a huge part of who I am, and I put my heart and soul into my lyrics. Some of the most influential artists (not just music artists) have been able to inspire people all around the world just through raw and authentic expression. I have evolved progressively in my music, and have always been authentic in who I am and what I’m going through. I want people to look back and see that I have always been true to myself, and never let the music industry change me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like I have a very unique style. I like to combine my ability to write, rap, sing, and harmonize in all of my music. I recorded all of my songs on my most recent project that I have completed produced by super talented friend KNDRX. I was taught by one of my enegineers, FL, how to record and somewhat engineer my own music. Very grateful for that man. I’m very proud of myself for investing in my own studio equipment. Being able to record whenever I want without having to schedule studio time or pay hourly has been a HUGE blessing for me. I don’t always feel musically creative but when my pen is hot I need to be able to work immediately and with unlimited amounts of studio time. Shockingly I actually work a lot faster and better when I’m able to record myself. I think it has a lot to do with feeling safe within my own space. I’m able to try some pretty crazy stuff when I record myself. I make a lot of weird noises and fluctuate to tone of my voice in my music because sound should be pushed to its limits especially vocally and also because WHY THE HELL NOT?! I’ve worked really hard to get where I am today and I still have more work to do. It definitely hasn’t been easy but through the grace and guidance of God I’ve been able to prevail. In this industry relationships are important but I think it’s also important to remember you purpose. It it’s disturbing your peace or putting you in predicaments that you may regret later it’s just not worth it. I’ve learned that sometimes letting go is the best thing you can do for yourself in order to progress. Put it in a song! I want the world to know that I am unapologetically myself and although peace and love is very important to me, I will never be afraid to speak my mind and express how I feel especially through my music. The Lord is still working on me lol. and with that being said… I make music you can FEEL.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I haven’t lived in Phoenix that long but my friends know I’m all about aesthetics so I would for sure take them to a few speak easy’s my partner has taken me to. I love unique cocktails and I’m definitely a foodie. Some of the best food I’ve had here in Phoenix has come from food trucks actually. I’m excited to explore more of the city during the cooler months because lately being in the cool comfort of my home in front of my computer working on music has been the BEST!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I want to Thank God. I’m very certain about God’s plan and I’m grateful to know God because without God I would probably fall into darker days of self doubt and having less patience in this beautiful process of building my legacy. God keeps me reminded that what is for me will always be for me. For those that do not believe in God it might seem crazy but We have a STRONG connection and we talk every day. I might not always listen to God because I can be a little stubborn but I’m always humbly reminded that God’s way is the most perfect way. I am thankful for the Southwest Alliance (a coalition of Djs that break Musical Artists). Special shoutout to Dj KTone and Dj John Blaze from iKON Radio who made it a point to bridge the gaps between musical artists in the southwestern region of the United States. My manager Kaneisha Session who has always believed in me and encouraged me with words of affirmations throughout everything, and has helped me stay focused on Gods vision for me. Author Rick Ruben who wrote “The Creative Act: A Way of Being” His words helped me to expand my perception of what Art is. He helped me to understand that Art has always been borrowed and evolved which means as creatives we are always inspiring others to create and recreate. One creatives art may come from inspiration from another artist but ALL ART IS BORROWED aside from natures natural art. That concept really helped me to feel purposeful. An honorable mention to anyone who is a fan of my artistry, came to my shows, shared my music, bought my merch, and spoke highly of me in rooms I wasn’t in, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without the people who have actively supported me, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
