We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Bliss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have a passion for photography and everything about it just makes me happy- being able to capture moments in time for clients, bringing joy to others through my photography, and just being able to get out and shoot pictures. People say I light up behind the camera. I believe everyone should pursue their passion and go for what they want to do! You only live once you should definitely do what you love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have gotten to where I am today by word of mouth. I love landscape photography, family photos and creative work in photoshop. My favorite is taking pictures at the beach- I recently moved to Arizona from California so have captured the beauty of the beach all over the Southern California coast and now I’m so excited to find the beauty in the desert. I have been exploring new possibles changing photos in photoshop to inspire and show my creative side.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m pretty new to the area but I really like the restaurant the “Taco Guild” in Phoenix. We would take a day and visit Sedona get a few pictures and relax, would also visit the Botanical Gardens especially right now with the Chihuly exhibit going on. Play some top golf or disc golf and can’t forget to take pictures at sunset in any area around Arizona – the sunsets are amazing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my Shoutout to Dave’s Photo Group (David Rosenberger). This whole group of likeminded friends have inspired me in every way along my photography journey. We travel together, take classes together, learn and teach each – it’s an amazing group of like minded people with the same interests that work together to make each other better.
