We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
The name of our business is called The House of Dreamz. When a person has a dream inside of them it is constantly with them in thought or action. I can’t imagine giving up because it’s a part of me. I know that my writing is what I was called to do. It is my gift and talent. I writes books, to be exact I have written eight. I have never had a best seller or sold a million copies yet. But it is my passion, I continue to write because there is a message in my writing. I also enjoy what I do, it brings great fulfillment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been a nurse for over thirty years, There are many obstacles in life. How would we ever grow if everything was easy. Challenges only make us better. Taking care of others and serving people has been a great joy in my life. I am also very creative, out of that creativity has come other projects for me to do as well. I think the key is loving what you do and enjoying life while doing it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Orlando Florida, it doesn’t get any better than that! Even though I am an adult, Disney World would be the place to go. There’s entertainment for everyone and it is certainly kid friendly. There is something for everyone to do.
I love a good steak, Christner’s steak house is a great place to eat. I also like to keep it simple sometimes and Cracker barrel is one of my favorites places to eat. Places to go, there are so many. I Like going shopping at the outlet malls, catching a good movie, dancing, spending time with the family and attending church for my spiritual wellness. I also enjoy cruising and vacationing..
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My two daughters are my motivation and inspiration. They encourage me to follow my dreams and they are very supportive of whatever it is I want to do in life. This is a great encouragement to me and i try to be the same motivation for them.
