We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Halem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting DRIVE LA was fueled by my passion for luxury cars and the desire to offer an unparalleled experience in luxury and super car rentals. I saw an opportunity to create something unique in the market, a service that would not just offer a means of transportation, but a gateway to a lifestyle, a moment in time where our clients could live their dream.

It was about merging the thrill of high-end vehicles with exceptional customer service. We aimed to craft an experience where every detail, from the variety of our fleet to our bespoke concierge services, was meticulously curated to meet the discerning tastes and needs of our clientele. The journey began with a car enthusiast’s heart and a clear vision to redefine luxury car rental, transforming it into a memorable part of our clients’ life adventures.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my journey with DRIVE LA, we aimed to redefine luxury car rental by striking a unique balance – making our brand both approachable and exclusive. We prioritized being relatable and accessible, steering clear of a standoffish image, while not compromising on our attention to detail. Maintaining our fleet’s excellence and delivering top-tier service are our hallmarks. This journey wasn’t straightforward; it demanded resilience, adaptability, and a steadfast commitment to our vision. The lesson learned is invaluable: true luxury isn’t just about the product; it’s about the experience and the genuine connections we foster with our clients. DRIVE LA is a narrative of passion, precision, and the pursuit of excellence, all grounded in a philosophy that luxury should be an inclusive, not exclusive, experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a week-long trip in Scottsdale and Phoenix, start with a luxurious dinner at Steak 44, known for its exceptional steaks. Explore the vibrant art scene at Scottsdale’s ArtWalk, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. Experience the unique blend of modern and Old West at Old Town Scottsdale, and for adventure, take a hot air balloon ride over the Sonoran Desert. Unwind with a round of golf at one of the premier courses, and enjoy the lively nightlife in downtown Phoenix. Lastly, make sure you cruise in cruise around in style in one of our vehicles from DRIVE LA | PHX!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I’d like to dedicate a heartfelt shoutout to our incredible staff, whose dedication and hard work form the backbone of our success. Additionally, profound gratitude goes to Rashaun Williams, Henley Halem and Chuck Haddad. Their guidance and wisdom have been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of DRIVE LA. Their mentorship has not only enriched my professional journey but has also infused our business model with innovative ideas and sustainable practices. These relationships are invaluable and a constant source of inspiration and strength.
