We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Sure Dividend in 2014 with the idea that the dividend growth investing strategy fit well with what is actually beneficial for investors. Specifically, the strategy fosters long-term thinking, low transaction costs through infrequent trading, income from dividends, a high probability of compounding income growth over the long-term, and a clear link between investing in stocks and being a fractional owner in the business through dividend payments.

What should our readers know about your business?
Sure Dividend helps investors build high quality dividend stock portfolios for retirement and financial freedom. We specifically analyze more than 830 income securities quarterly in the Sure Analysis Research Database. We analyze all securities over the same metrics so we can compare them on an apples-to-apples basis. All of this analysis gives our members the power to quickly find the best income investment opportunities, while avoiding mediocre or worse investments.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I couldn’t have started Sure Dividend without the help of my wife, Shina Reynolds. There’s also been many great books and articles that have given me motivation. One that comes to mind specifically is Self Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
