We had the good fortune of connecting with Bethany and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bethany, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I ask this question probably every day, but then I realize how much I love what I do and the connections I’ve made, then I just keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I went to college and got my Early Learning & Child Care Certificate, and I did that for a few years. I realized quickly that it wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life but I didn’t know what I wanted to do in my life. I decided to start my little sewing business making wild rags for friends, then it grew and grew, and then recently, I secured an office manager position at a local autobody shop. Turns out that I love it and it’s where I’ve always wanted to be. It’s funny how these things fall into place when we least expect them.

My little business started to fall into place so quickly and so slowly at the same time, but I learned that dedication, consistency and a love for what you do makes all the difference.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the middle of nowhere! There isn’t a lot here. Honestly it would be a “pack a cooler”, grab the tent, and drive around. There’s not much for activities, but there’s beautiful scenery, cool old buildings and good cruising tunes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people who deserve some credit in my business, we’d be here forever! My family have been awesome cheerleaders and my friends have been my biggest supporters right from day 1. There’s other small business owners like me who deserve credit in my success too!
