We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business wasn’t necessarily a conscious decision at first – it was almost a calling that aligns fully with my values as a person. I believe enough in my unique abilities that I knew I would eventually want to be my own boss and to take on the role of a professional Realtor. I’ve worked in property management since 2010 right out of college but had planned on being an elementary teacher. After a 6-year stint as a teacher, I knew I had to go back to property management – and eventually, real estate. For me, it was a gradual decision that I came to through experience, and learning what I did and did not want to do with my life. Independence and the freedom to choose my business is so vitally important to me, and I felt myself shrinking under the grip of working in corporate America. I knew that to fulfill my own potential, I would have to quit one day.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other Realtors is that I make the experience FUN and EASY. Those are the two adjectives that describe the experience I strive to produce for all my clients. In addition, I believe education and agency are so important in educating my clients on the marketplace and what is usually the biggest investment of their life.
One of my deep-rooted fears growing up was a sense of abandonment from a physical home. The idea of a safe place where you can produce your own surroundings has always spoken to me. This intense realization of what a home means to me, leads me each day to work as hard as possible for my clients. I know what a big investment this is. I know what a home can represent. And because of this, I work diligently and professionally for my clients’ best interests.
I dreamed of moving to Arizona, and my personal brand is HOME Under the Arizona Sun. I love everything that Arizona represents and offers as a place of innovation, hospitality, and independence. I want my clients to find their HOME under the sun.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever my best friend visits, I am sure to plan out a fun weekend getaway for us to complete together. First, we would stop at Sumo Maya for bottomless brunch and mimosas to start the day off strong. Afterwards, we’d stop at Society of Saint Vincent de Paul thrift shop to see what local treasures we could find. After getting some shopping in (with possibly a stop at Nordstrom Rack), we’d take a walk along the Scottsdale Waterfront to work some calories off and sight-see. We might even drop by Olive & Ivy for a snack or Press Coffee for an afternoon Americano. On the way home, we may stop to look at a home I’d be showing for an Open House to plan for the next morning.
The next day, I’d take my best friend with me to one of my Open House events. We’d chitchat with guests as they toured the home, being sure to ask important questions about their search but also giving them the freedom to explore the home. With the Open House successfully closed, we’d plan an afternoon trip to El Dorado Hot Springs in Tonopah for an afternoon soak in their hot springs overlooking the sunset. Dinner would entail a pitstop to Taco Boys in Tempe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to credit my experience as a person to my wonderful spouse who is always supporting me and cheering on my dreams. In addition, my aunt (a professor) and best friend (a nurse), have always believed in my power to produce positive outcomes in my life. Without these people in my corner, it would have been even more difficult to take the plunge into real estate as a fulltime profession.
