Hi Brayanm, how do you define success?
It has taken some introspection to really arrive at my own definition of the word ”success”. I have question how much success is enough for me and what that looks like, as this contributes to my peace of mind, quality of life and my emotional health. unfortunately, we live in a society where success is measured in quantitative metrics, such as fame, social recognition, money, and followers in social networks. In a world like this, Success for me has been to wake up every day in the morning and tell myself ”I am enough”, to feel fulfilled, to pursue purpose, and surpass the self of yesterday, every day.

success is an intimate recognition, therefore it is a state of mind.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I want to start by saying that I fell into the tourism industry purely by accident. In my country Colombia I am a public accountant and worked for more than years reaching very important positions (my last position was internal control coordinator). after several years as an employee I decided to make a radical turn in my life and opted for entrepreneurship, this being one of the hardest decisions of my life, since my main detractors were in my own home (my family). the leadership that characterizes me kept me firm in my decision and during all this time I discovered that my passion is to serve others.
during my first year in the tourism industry, i realized that most travelers were not only coming to my city to see the magic of Cartagena, i believed that the culture, the essence and the roots of our people could represent a change in the perspective of travelers, and that is how our company BLACK LEGACY EXPERIENCES was born; We believe that tourism should be social, friendly and sustainable, so we bet on cultural exchange experiences and today we are considered one of the most important companies in this field of experiences, having business relationships with companies like Airbnb and travel companies internationally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love this question, CARTAGENA…
the first thing we would definitely do would be to welcome you with the joy that characterizes us accompanied by music, and depending on the time you arrive, after having checked in at your place of accommodation, we will go to eat at a restaurant and try traditional food.
the following days will be of excursions and activities where we will activate all our senses and we will have a deep connection with the culture of colombia, to make your vacation the best of all.

thanks to my cousin Roy Alberto, who was a source of inspiration as much as my cousin Maryolis Sayas, for showing me the Network Marketing industry, to my parents and siblings for their unconditional love and support, although in many occasions they were my main detractors and this made me stronger. to the book Etica para amador by Fernando Savater, the movies el cambio by Wayne Dier and Gladiator, and the life story of General Marco Aurelio.
