We had the good fortune of connecting with Breanna Rose Skoon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Breanna Rose, why did you pursue a creative career?
Being creative is an innate part of who I am. Who we all are… creativity is what distinguishes humans from all other species. However, I have always honed-in on my artistic abilities since I was a child. I chose fashion and beauty at 7 yrs old when I put on lipstick from my grandmother and cut-up her bedsheets to create a dress pattern then stapled the pieces together to complete my look. I’ve been designing and creating beauty products ever since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company is Lousy Rich, now offering an extension of clean beauty products to the fashion brand. Our premium lipstick line, fashion & custom jewelry designs can help with all your styling needs.

~ I started the label in January 2013. By designing accessories after attending FIDM. While planning my wedding, I wanted to do something special for my bridesmaids & family so I decided to make all of their jewelry. Soon after earning my fashion degree, I was then inspired to create my first clothing collection. From there the brand evolved, from Breazy Brand, LLC consisting of only jewelry into Lousy Rich, LLC featuring two passions; fashion and jewelry design. I went on to showcase at PHX Fashion Week which sparked my interest to obtain a second degree in BIZ & Marketing. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, in 2019, from ASU & decided to create a product extension for my brand. Thus, Lousy Rich LIPS was born. With a mission to create premium beauty products that are cruelty free & clean, at a Lousy Rich price.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fashion week, Barret-Jackson, WM golf tournament, talking stick resort or W Scottsdale for a concert. I love lunch at Lucy’s in Phoenix and dinner in old town, maybe shopping in the Biltmore or Fashion Square Mall. Events at Westgate in Glendale like the most recent Super Bowl or the AZ science center.. so many great things to see and do but my most precious places are: Hiking Camelback or Piestawa Peak Mountains, Az costume Institute and Phx Art Museum..so many events and street activities surrounding these areas as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Amazing mentorship given to me in life was by a fabulous voice for fashion, here in the Valley of the Sun, her name is Angela Johnson, Co-Founder of F.A.B.R.I.C. a fashion and business resource innovation center in Tempe. She brought me on the board of directors (BOD) for the FGI az chapter, Fashion Group International as: Sponsorship Chair for many years and trained me privately as well as guided me during my second degree at ASU, interning as the Go-to-Market Coordination Director for the fashion incubater “Fabric Tempe”. Also, to all my friends, family and business supporters along the way.
