We had the good fortune of connecting with Bree Arianna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bree, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artist career because I’ve always loved art. All forms, music, design, paint, dance, etc. As a child I never wanted to be a teacher or police officer or doctor. I wanted to be a star, excelling in the art. I wanted to be a singer/designer/movie star. And that never changed. I never saw myself as a corporate worker and I was always the child to come up w/ something creative by my own hands. I saw the world differently. I lived in a world in my mind that thrives off of creativity and till this day; it’s what brings me the ideas and all of the several talents that I have because I’m always looking to create something.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I come from a background in modeling. I grew up as a poster kid being the face of hair care products at an early age. As I got older I wanted to step out from in front of the camera and go behind the scenes. I loved the effort that went into making the models beautiful, so I transitioned into the backend of the beauty industry. I studied cosmetology and did hair for several years but it wasn’t my passion in particular. I found my love in makeup while experiencing severe depression after having a miscarriage w/ twins. And from that my passion was born. 7 years later my love for makeup hasn’t changed. Learning the business side of things has been the most challenging because I bring the creative and make the masterpiece. I’ve never liked to crunch numbers. However in order to be successful, I have to set aside what intimidates me about the things I lacked knowledge in and find the answers. Having that understanding of business along with the creativity is the only way to have a long lasting career. I learned plenty of things the hard way! Your friends and family are not your target audience, they may not always support you, strangers will be more inclined to support you, even if the industry is over saturated no one will do what you do like you do, etc. I am constantly learning new lessons about the business as a add more services to what I offer my clients. I want the world to know that this brand is who I had to become in order to see the vision come to life. This brand is about me assisting people in becoming exactly who they want to become through beauty and wellness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were here for a week, the first place we’re going is to a spa. We are both full time single parents of 2 and that can weigh on a woman. I’d take her to a full service spa to be completely rejuvenated. Next we’d go for some southern cooking and go to Lo-Lo’s chicken and waffles followed by drinks at Fat Tuesdays. We’re adults but still kids at heart so we’re the type going to go racing at K1 speed or diving ATVs in the desert. I’m also still fairly new to AZ foodie life so I’d probably check out a few tiktokers for advice on “go-to” spots here. Note if we were in my hometown of Chicago then I’d know exactly where to go. Here, we’d be on an adventure together finding news places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shout-out to a few beings. First and foremost the God that resides within me. That’s where my strength and endurance comes from. My beautiful daughters Naiomi and Nova, for given me the drive to pursue this life so that my legacy is something that they may be proud of. My goal is to set my children up for success so they never have to know what it’s like to work hard for what’s already theirs. Lastly, the parents God gave me. One is my backbone and the other is the voice inside of my head reminding me that I was chosen for this path. I will take their wisdom with me all the days of my life.
