We had the good fortune of connecting with Brent Imbornoni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brent, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business was that healthy eating and meal prepping changed my life. I found that I had a passion for cooking and meal prepping and wanted to share that with others in hopes that I could help change some other lives as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think what sets us apart from others is our food. Stereotypical meal prep can be boring, bland and leave you unsatisfied, instead of looking forward to, and enjoying your food, it can seem like a chore. Our food is the exact opposite. We take indulgent foods, comfort foods, foods everyone loves and make them a bit healthier. We believe at the end of the day, if your goal is weight loss it all comes down to calories. Our meals are always right around 500 calories so they can easily be plugged into your daily caloric intake and have you in a deficit if your goal is weight loss. So we take those 500 calories and make delicious meals, some of our best sellers include Carne Asada, Chicken Pesto Pasta, Carnitas, BBQ Pulled Pork, Barbacoa and Cajun Chicken Pasta.

We are wrapping up our second year in our commercial kitchen and I would say we’ve gotten to where we are today by offering a solid product that we stand behind, focusing on community impact, customer service, convenience, and sharing the journey on our social media.

It definitely hasn’t been easy, and there have been plenty of bumps in the road along the way. It’s in some ways been a figure it out as you go type of situation. I think every business owner starts with little knowledge or knowhow but figures it out and learns and grows along the way. You can never be fully prepared for situations you’ve never been in before. Something that has helped me figure it out along the way is talking to others in this space, in this state and others and learning everything I can from them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting for a day I would want to take them on an early morning hike at Piestewa Peak, grab some coffee at Luanas, dinner would probably be Pizzeria Bianco or Baconora and then maybe a Suns or Dbacks game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I had to choose one person to give a shoutout to that has been instrumental in my journey so far it would have to be my wife Heather. It was because of her I made a change in my life and started eating healthier and learning how to cook in the first place. She inspired me to be a better person, and still does to this day. She’s been so supportive of my dreams every step of the way. She didn’t flinch when I told her I wanted to quit my 9-5 to go all in on my meal prep business. She also doesn’t flinch when I tell her my dreams for the future of the business, to most they might sound crazy, but she believes in me and that kind of trust and support is everything.
