We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Goodwin McKinney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jen, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My goal in creating Transcendence Life Center is to provide the community with services and tools to reprogram, helping you heal the body, mind, spirit connection. The services we provide helps to release energy distortion, physical and emotional blockages in the body, mind and spirit. From massage therapy, energy work, hypnotherapy, life coaching, sound healing, neurofeedback and more. Creating healthier habits, more balanced and sustainable lifestyles and providing support and resources to help you be the best version of yourself. TLC was created to help you find your way back to the I AM presence that lives in the heart of us all. The love consciousness that is the true nature of all of humanity. By using the gifts, skills and tools that have helped me to heal trauma over many years and at 46 be in the best shape of my life. I began to bring all of those tools into the work I was doing with my clients. In the last year I was called to expand Transcendence Life Center and create space to support not just the community but also other healing arts practitioners providing them with a work space to be self sustainable in their own businesses and have space to share their gifts with humanity, while we are all working together as a collaborative to share these gifts and tools with the community and each other in one space. The shift in humanity starts with all of us working together to be the true beings of love we are intended to be. It starts with us healing and reprogramming ourselves.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
At heart I am an artist.. we all are in my opinion. We are co-creators of our life and that is our biggest masterpiece. I and my father are one. The art I create is from my heart and soul and it ranges from sculpting, painting, drawing to natural jewelry & body care, handmade soaps, cooking, gardening and more. Ultimately I see my life and everything in it as a work of art. I love creating beauty where there was something barren & broken or blah before. I use art as an expression of myself, my guides, my fears, my pains, my love and my blessings. I see my business Transcendence Life Center as just an extension of that as well. The work I do started in 2004 when I graduated massage therapy school and recognized the gift I held my whole life. That was a huge shift in healing for me. Like my life, business has its moments of pain and can be challenging from time to time and always a work in progress. Constant facing fears and old programming to move forward. Implementing tools to help heal mindsets and pain like breath work, yoga, and  neurofeedback, diet and energy work. These tools have helped me succeed in every aspect in life and business. Like art it’s used to touch and help humanity heal. I look at the challenges that come along in business the same way I do in life, facing my fears so many times of pure angst and uncomfortability. What I try to do now in those moments is be the observer and ask for understanding and strength to face my fears and stay in a mindset of faith. As in life we have to take risks to move forward it is the same in business. Everytime we face our fears we keep moving forward and if we don’t well we find ourselves in a swamp or looping the same hamster wheel. That can be so scary and even physically debilitating if the fear is strong enough. With this action you soon find yourself in a place of acceptance and flow.

What I’ve learned along the way is accept, let go, when we cling we suffer and sometimes that anxiety you feel is because you are sitting on the edge of getting to the other side, lean in and BREATHE! The challenge is a strength builder and usually opens the flow to yet another level of understanding, excitement and passion! We are all human, we fall short some days, own it, apologize and forgive yourself…and don’t forget to laugh. What I want the world to know is we are all a work in progress, striving to be only in our own highest vibration of love and walk with each other home, back to our true selves. We all have good days and bad days and fly to the highest mountain or fall short.. it is all about grace, love, forgiveness and acceptance of ourselves and each other. Today is a new day, how do you want to create your masterpiece? What does the future look like to you? Just imagine it without any how’s, why’s or what if’s?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to visit for a week I would have so much to share about this magical place we get to live in. Day 1- I would start off day with a plant based breakfast at 24 Carrots in Tempe, followed by some uplifting scenery and movement at Kiwanis park. We would probably like to have some body, mind and spirit reset work so we’d head over to Transcendence Life Center for some realignment and restore Massage, energy work and frequency balancing to get in direct alignment for the rest of the week.  Pick out some natural body care for the week and for her to take home and head to Emerge acupuncture to finish the realignment.

After that we’d go to Jasmine Jo’s for Tea or coffee and some beautiful flowers. Maybe hit up Altered Ego Salon for a new look. That would be a full day and would be ready to shop for some food to make dinner. If in the mood for Indian, Thai or Mediterranean we would head to Baize market, Lotus Market or Lee Lee’s. Head home to make the magic happen.
Day 2- would be spent with a morning hike at South mountain connecting with the glorious energy of the Great Spirit and Mother Earth doing some hiking, meditation or yoga. We are so blessed to live here. The rest of the day would probably be spent catching up, relaxing by the pool and eating leftovers from the night before. Possibly some creative jewelry making or art. laughing and just being!
Day 3 – would be ready to head back to the gym to sweat early, followed by the dog park to have some laughs then it’s breakfast time! Which typically I would cook because that’s what I do for the people I love! Ready for an adventure we’d head to Butcher Jones Beach for some Kayaking and to see the magical wild horses and a picnic lunch.
Day 4 – Ready for some fun we would spend hours at Wonder Spaces for an intriguing Art experience, followed by lunch or dinner at Ninja for some sushi! And yes they make plant based sushi if you’re not into fish. Possibly too full to move the rest of the evening would be filled with Relax and chill poolside.
Day -5 It’s the weekend! Dinner at Pomegranate café or some plant based Mexican at La Casa De Juana – Well pre-covid I would have said head to Char’s has the blues for music and dancing… that has sadly changed…since there is no more dancing. Music would have to do either Good Time Charlies, Jolie’s Place or Cactus Jacks to absorb the musical vibes and connect with people.
Day 6 – Would have to consist of heading to the Gilbert or Chandler Farmers market. Then meeting up with some friends to take a bike ride along the canal or at Tempe Town Lake. Hit up the Ceramics Museum for some cool Art then head to Glendale to visit Cosmic Vegans and get some amazing plant based deliciousness, connection and community!!
Day 7 – Sadly it would be coming to an end. So the finale to the great week would be heading to Sedona to visit friends, take a hike. sit by the creek and bask in the beauty we call Arizona. Big Love until next time. How blessed are we to live in such an amazing place?
