We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Rambo, Patrick Mulligan and Katie Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana Rambo, Patrick Mulligan and Katie Cooper, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Prior to founding Studio Create, Briana Rambo, Patrick Mulligan, and Katie Cooper pursued careers in conventional nine-to-five roles. However, our shared passion for photography ignited a desire to transform our individual interests into a collaborative venture. When the opportunity to establish a studio arose, we collectively recognized it as the perfect moment to actualize our dream.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our team is united by a shared passion for the arts, encompassing a diverse range of disciplines including set building, painting, sports, hair and makeup, clothing design, and much more. In our approach to photography, we recognize that it extends beyond merely capturing images; rather, it involves meticulous behind-the-scenes preparation and execution. At every stage of our process, we encounter challenges that require adept problem-solving and adaptability. The decision to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship was both daunting and exhilarating for us. As we enter our second year of business, we reflect on the numerous adjustments and refinements we have made since our inception. Growth necessitates change, and we have evolved not only in our workflow but also in our commitment to fostering a more efficient and creatively fulfilling operation. This ongoing process of adaptation exemplifies our dedication to continuous improvement and innovation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tucson, Arizona, often receives criticism for its arid desert landscape. However, beneath this surface lies a rich tapestry of culture and stunning wildlife. Visitors to our city are encouraged to explore the local zoos and wildlife exhibits, which offer captivating experiences. Additionally, a stroll down 4th Avenue is a quintessential Tucson experience, brimming with vibrant activities and attractions. From lively dancing at The Hut to indulging in a burlesque performance at the Shirley Wench, or simply savoring a culinary delight at one of the many eateries lining the street, there’s something to delight every visitor on this bustling thoroughfare.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Additionally, Briana extends heartfelt appreciation to her friend Victory Ember, whose early belief in her talents as a photographer provided invaluable encouragement and propelled her towards realizing her creative potential.

For Patrick, the formative influence of his lifelong passion for sports has been instrumental in shaping his trajectory.
