We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kim, how did you come up with the idea for your business?

Diva Over Fifty offers exclusive fitness and wellness lifestyle coaching and online resources for women over fifty desiring to become healthy and ageless. Women over fifty were unable to find health and fitness programs and resources that were tailored to their specific needs. That’s why, in 2017 I created Diva Over Fifty. I’ve helped hundreds of women over fifty to transform from unfit and discouraged to fit, centered, and empowered. I’m a trainer who is transparent, intuitive and understanding. I’m resilient and know how to thrive in the margins and I don’t buy into ageism. I believe our joy comes from movement, self knowledge, emotional intelligence and empathy for others.

What should our readers know about your business?
Diva Over Fifty isn’t a bootcamp, a starvation diet, or gimmick. It’s about your choices and your program customized for your life. Take as much as you want. If you want more, take it. If you want to scale back during holidays and vacations, go for it. There’s only one “you” and no program fits everyone. You don’t need to dedicate your life to exercise, or limit your diet to tofu and kale to be a Diva Over Fifty. Start small, with the important thing being to start. Even ten minutes per day, plus minor changes in diet, can make a big difference in how you look and feel. Here’s an example: walk a mile each day; cut out one or two bad meal choices each week; limit dessert to a half portion or to every other day; consider cutting bread and pasta to half servings every other day. The more you engage in the program the greater the reward. One simple choice, which many overlook, is to simply eliminate things you won’t miss. For some that may be eliminating red meat or cheese. For others, it may be eliminating candy or ice cream. If they’re bad choices and you won’t miss them, eliminate them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Sedona & The Grand Canyon .. I believe it’s a must see for anyone that visits!! My local restaurants… Brunch: Olive & Ivy , Mountain Shadows lunch: True Foods , Flower Child, Grande Orange & Zinque Dinner or: Cocktails Jade Bar Sanctuary Ocean 44, Cafe Monarch

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out would be my oldest son, Adrian Fisher, CEO of PropertySimple, who is a successful entrepreneur and guided me with tech insights and encouragement. The second would be a group of online midlife bloggers that refer to themselves as “SWProAgeWomen”. They invited me to join their network group on Instagram.. The friends I’ve made from this support group have changed my life.
