We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursed a artist career because art is always what called to me. Im able to be myself and put my all to my art. I meet some amazing people and hear amazing stories.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been tattooing for 4 years and it was not that easy if a journey to get there. Apprenticeships aren’t that easy but you just gotta put your all into it and show everyone this is really what you want to do. I cleaned, I watched, I asked questions, i did everything I could do to be the artist I am today. It sounds easy but its draining haha like any Apprenticeship program would be. I saw the career and the end of the tunnel and just kept thinking of the after match. I had obstacles get in the way that make my progression harder but I stuck to it. I’m always open to ideas I love doing all different styles of tattooing and I’m always up for a challenge.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A couple weeks ago I took a trip to Canyon Lake. We took some car photo shoots and just took pictures out there. I really wanna go to Horseshoe Bend. We just hung out and chilled. Its refreshing getting out and exploring. We stopped at Dennys on the way back. I want to check out alot of places out here. Wanna take a drive up to payson, grand canyon, like I said before horseshoe bend. There’s lots of beautiful places out here. Sometimes I use the photos as tattoo refrences.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a shoutout to my parents. James Johnson and Diana Johnson for giving me the support and allowing me to pursue what I wanted to do with no judgment. Also shoutout to all my friends for letting me practice when I barley had any idea what I was doing haha. To this day they continue to support me by coming in and getting tattooed.
