We had the good fortune of connecting with Bridget Hazell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bridget, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The success of my brand lies in its authenticity, which is deeply rooted in my personal identity and passions. By building a brand around my own genuine interests and aesthetic values, I’ve been able to created a foundation that resonates not only with myself but with my audience and clients. This authenticity makes my content feel natural, relatable, and trustworthy—qualities that I believe are invaluable in setting myself apart in a crowded marketplace.
The ability to align my personal vision with my brand ensures consistency and coherence, making my content recognizable and memorable. People are drawn to originality, and by staying true to myself, I’ve crafted a brand that reflects my unique perspective, standing out as both distinct and meaningful in my niche.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I Began my career in 2017 in a small commission salon in Scottsdale, I laid the foundation for my expertise by focusing on intricate techniques like color corrections and Blonding. These early experiences helped me build a strong technical skill set and confidence in my abilities.
I then decided to become an independent stylist and run my own business. This was a scary move that came with challenges, It took a few years to understand how to run a business and promote myself. I learned that aligning my work with your values helped me overcome those challenges. Over time, I discovered a passion for creating “lived-in” looks for blondes and brunettes—styles that feel natural, timeless, and tailored to each individual.
I strive to care for both the mental and physical well-being of my clients. This has been a guiding principle, inspiring me to adopt holistic, clean color and products. This has drawn in like-minded people into my business. Adopting a more thoughtful approach not only enhances my clients’ beauty but also ensures they feel genuinely cared for, both inside and out.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Anytime I’m with friends I’m taking them out for good food, and to go shopping.
Im in love with Ghost Ranch in Tempe, the food, drinks and atmosphere are all amazing.
I would also go to Cider Corp in downtown mesa, it’s the best cider I’ve ever had in my life!
I love going with my friends to the antique trove in Scottsdale because I’m convinced that it’s the best antique store in the valley.
Retro Ranch on 7th Ave has a great selection of vintage clothing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Supportive relationships have played a pivotal role in my success.
I would love to shout-out my fellow stylist’s Emma Thompson (Emma.t.paints) and Cat (scenesweetheart) for being my cheerleaders and inspiring me to improve and take risks in my career. Their encouragement and friendships have fueled my creative journey.
A special shout-out to my husband, Alex, who is my rock, unwavering in his support of both me and my career—having a partner like him is truly priceless.
