We had the good fortune of connecting with Bridget Richmond and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bridget, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of opening my own business suddenly came to me and I kept following the signs along the way. I did not rush it and was guided by what felt right as my business started to progress more and more.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Esthetician, I provide holistic skin care treatments, body waxing, and lash and brow treatments. My organic facials are apothecary style, which means I customize each treatment to meet my clients skincare needs. Skin care is a passion of mine because it is so complex and everything is connected— body, mind, and spirit. My intuition is what led me to the line of work I do. I have always been attracted to anything health and healing related. The education in my field is always evolving and I am passionate about keeping myself current to holistic skincare. Any challenges that come my way I look at them as a learning curve, what can I take from this experience to do better next time? I am grateful for all the wonderful relationships I continue to build with so many incredible people. Opal Raw Beauty is a space where anyone is welcome, and I work hard to individualize each treatment to best suit you, as a client.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week I would start the trip by going up to Sedona. Check out a crystal shop, get our tarot cards read, and take a hike near water. Next drive through flagstaff to show the diversity of beauty, the big ponderosa pine trees that make me feel at home. Back down in Phoenix we would start the day with something active, whether that is a hike, or head to a yoga studio. Downtown Phoenix is my favorite area to hang! So many cool businesses! My favorite coffee shop is Lola’s, retail store is Gather in the Churchill, and brewery is Arizona Wilderness. And of course, we’d likely find a live music show at the Van Buren or Crescent Ballroom!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents have owned a business for many years, watching their dedication and hard work as a young child (and still to this day) taught me what it takes to run a successful business. They are two of the hardest working people I know, yet, humble and full of compassion for others!
