We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittny Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittny, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Many things bring me joy/ make me happy. First is my family, I am a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful kiddos with a set of twins on the way this year. Outside of my family, seeing repeat customers or seeing new customers loving on my product makes me so happy. I formulate all my products myself so seeing my chemistry degree being utilized it so fulfilling. I love making clean, vegan, products that can be used by the women, men, and children. I am so grateful!

What should our readers know about your business?
Trades of Brit is an all natural soap and body company based in Phoenix, AZ. I’m a chemist and I formulate all our products and I love making products that combine science and nature to create skin loving products. We believe, we were created to love our bodies inside and out.

Our shop highlights handcrafted items that are made in small quantities utilizing high quality oils, butters and botanicals. We take joy in making each item natural, keeping your skin in consideration, by not adding harmful substances, destructive chemicals or unforgiving fixings. The moisturizing oils utilized in our cleansers will deliver a wealthy sumptuous foam that will leave your skin clean and supple without stripping it of its common oils.

All of our soap contain unrefined, all natural ingredients such as olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and castor oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil and hemp oil to name a few.

Trades of Brit was established March 2021, and it has been a great business decision, We have had many successes and we have also face some challenges. I am learning that what’s best for me personally is not always best for my business and vice versa, but overall the key is to keep growing, to keep moving forward and never give up hope and faith in the dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have been in the valley for a little over 5 years and I have some favorite spots and some places I still want to try, but here are a few of my favorites.

I am a foodie so we would have to visit the following places at least once on this trip:
-Chanpen Thai on Broadway
– Scoop and Joy Lounge
– Pure Juice and Joy
– Trap Haus BBQ
-Cha Cha’s Tea Lounge
– The Churchill Phoenix
– Mr. Mesquite

Also you now you cannot come to AZ and not hike! So we are going to Camelback Mountain and South mountain.

Places to do a little shopping
– Old Town Scottsdale
– Fashion Square Mall
– Gilbert Row
– Tempe Marketplace

Fun Place to Hangout:
– Roadhouse Cinema
– Century Grand Phx
– Desert Botanical Garden
– Tempe Beach
– Mill Ave

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband deserves more than a little credit. He is the ultimate teammate in our marriage, without him I would not be able to make Trades of Brit function 100%.
