Meet Brooke Roe | Founder & CEO, Creative Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Roe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brooke, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
One of my favorite quotes is “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” If a situation no longer brings me joy, it’s time to change it by either letting it go or persevering through the hurdle. There are plenty of challenges that can be overcome with a change in perspective, the help of a friend, some newfound insight, or plain old hard work. That said, too often in my life, I’ve clung to things for longer than necessary, or worked tirelessly to change a situation or a relationship when it was simply time to let it go. Lately, I’m working on turning inward at times of indecision. I find myself constantly dropping ideas, obligations, thoughts, roles, and even relationships that no longer serve me. When I use joy as my guiding compass, things flow. There are still plenty of challenges, but I find myself dancing in the storm, rather than swept up by it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love teaching mindful art classes. Many adults have been conditioned to believe that they aren’t creative, which is impossible. Creativity isn’t reserved for certain people who are more inspired or unique, it’s in us all just waiting for a chance to come out.
Creativity comes in many forms. Creativity can be your personal style, how you plate your food, or how you deliver reports at work. Put your attention on creativity and watch how it blossoms. Heighten your awareness of where you are creative to train your brain to think creatively. Nature doesn’t compare itself or hold back its full manifestation in fear that it might not be good enough. If you are constantly questioning yourself rather than trusting your instinct, it’s impossible to be spontaneous which is deeply attached to creative freedom.
Today, I invite you to make your curiosity about creativity just a little bigger than your fear. Notice creativity happening in every moment and you will begin to live a creative life!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love spending time in nature and eating. I might suggest a hike at Pinnacle Peak mountain followed by a relaxing and healthy lunch created by the chefs at Civana resort.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am eternally grateful to my husband for his support and encouragement. He accepts each new iteration of me in each new moment and that isn’t always easy! He is a great example of living kindness and presence.
