Meet BXMMY | Artist & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with BXMMY and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BXMMY, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and brand would be staying unique and true to myself, as well as always respecting my moral compass. Most entertainers like to say that we are not role models, but I completely disagree. That is the number one thing that drives me daily. I want to teach and inspire my listeners to stay true to who they are as individuals, no matter what others may say. I want to show that you don’t always have to “hang with the cool kids”, that you don’t always have to fit in. I want to inspire them to be the kindness they wish to see in the world. Standing out is a power that not many people possess and it should be embraced to the fullest extent. I am different, I am quirky, I am unapologetically me. Even with success, I remind myself everyday that I started in the same place my listeners are at now.
I have never been motivated by money or fame, but by the want to share my story in hopes that it allows others to heal. I am just one person at the end of the day, but the whole goal of my mission and overall success is to leave the world knowing it’s a better place for the generations that come next.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an all around creative who has experience in multiple fields including: Music, poetry, dance and art. I feel that what sets me apart from others would be the fact that I am versatile and I cannot fit into one box or category. I am very proud of how far I have come since starting my career. It has been very challenging, especially over the past four years. After my diagnosis of epilepsy coming late in life, I wasn’t really sure if I’d be able to keep up with the fast pace environment. This caused a-lot of self doubt within myself and made it almost impossible for me to feel inspired. I learned from this experience that good things take time. It gave me the room to step back and really consider where I wanted to go and who I wanted to be. I want people to realize that at the end of the day, I am just a girl from a small home town who had bigs dreams, that I am just like everyone else.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to expose my friends and loved ones to the community we have in Arizona. Places like Roosevelt Rowe in Phoenix, infuse open mics, small local shows,
And our artsy areas throughout Phoenix. I am a very spiritual person and Willa Leah’s recommend spending time in Sedona visiting slide rock and the vortex to raise their vibrations and serotonin levels. People tend to think that we are just living in the desert, but Arizona is home to some of the most amazing hidden gems and experiences.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this to my friends and family who have supported me every step of the way. Thank you MG45 & UQ for inspiring me daily and for showing me that I am capable & unstoppable.
