Meet Carlos Mayorga | Certified Locksmith tech and owner of C.A.M Locksmith

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Mayorga and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea of starting my own business was inspired by my father, who has been running a successful auto mechanic shop. Watching him achieve his dreams fueled my passion to do the same. Along this journey, I have faced ups and downs, starting with a mobile truck/car wash business that unfortunately had to close due to personal circumstances.

However, every cloud has a silver lining, and it was during this period that fate led me to an amazing opportunity. I started working at a locksmith shop, and little did I know, it would shape my future. My boss recognized my potential and sent me to school to gain more expertise in locksmithing, becoming state-certified in California.

Life works in mysterious ways, and when the locksmith company closed down, I saw it as a sign to embark on my own adventure. Thus, C.A.M Locksmith was born in August 2018, proudly bearing my name initials, Carlos Antonio Mayorga.

Being a mobile locksmith means I can bring my services directly to your doorstep. Whether it’s a lockouts, rekeying, or installation of advanced security systems, I am here to cater to all your locksmith needs with professionalism and a friendly smile.

I can’t believe how far my journey into locksmithing has taken me! It all started back in 2015 when I found myself with limited hours at my trucking job. Determined to make the most of this opportunity, I enrolled in the Foley Belsaw Locksmith home study course and dedicated myself to learning and practicing every single day. Graduating from the course was just the beginning.

In 2016, I was hired by NSBS (which later became Miner), a reputable Facility Maintenance company. Working as an in-house locksmith, I had the privilege of servicing major retail stores like Apple, Verizon, AT&T, and Ross. It was a fantastic experience, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I was given.

Then, in 2017, my boss saw my potential and offered me the chance to take over the key shop. I went back to school to expand my knowledge in Access Control and automobile locksmithing, even obtaining my state Locksmith license. The company paid for all the classes, and I’ll forever be grateful for their belief in me. As a result, I made the decision to quit my trucking job that same year and fully dedicate myself to locksmithing.

Unfortunately, Miner decided to relocate operations in 2018, leading to their closure. However, I turned this setback into an opportunity. With the severance money I received, I decided to open my own locksmith mobile business, C.A.M Locksmith, on August 10, 2018. I even returned to my old trucking job part-time to support myself during this new venture.

Initially, I focused on residential and commercial locksmithing, but as demand grew, I expanded my services to include automobile locksmithing as well. This past November, I made the exciting decision to relocate from Lynwood, California to Phoenix, Arizona. I’ve set up my new locksmith shop at home, making it even more convenient for customers to access my services as a mobile locksmith right in their own neighborhood.

I am beyond grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. From my boss at Miner to my loyal customers, I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to pursue my passion. I’m excited for the future of C.A.M Locksmith and all the new opportunities that lie ahead. Stay tuned for more updates!

I’ve got the perfect itinerary for you! One of the must-visit places is the Phoenix Zoo 🦁, situated in the picturesque Papago Park. This non-profit zoo is a sanctuary for over 3,000 animals from around the world, with 400 species including endangered ones. Stroll along the 2.5 miles of walking paths and immerse yourself in the Arizona, Africa, Tropics, and Children’s trails, each showcasing unique wildlife. You’ll be awestruck by Bornean Orangutans swinging gracefully, majestic Asian Elephants, fierce Sumatran Tigers, legendary Komodo Dragons, elegant Masai Giraffes, and the mighty African Lions 🦧🐘🐯🦎🦒🦁. Don’t forget to explore the incredible Jurassic ecosystems and be amazed by animatronic dinosaurs!

For an extended stay, I highly recommend checking out Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, or Horseshoe Bend 🏞. These destinations offer breathtaking landscapes that Arizona is famous for, with their towering red rocks, lush forests, and magnificent canyons. Each place has its unique charm and offers incredible opportunities for adventure and relaxation.

And now, let’s talk food! A visit to Arizona isn’t complete without trying the famous Sonoran Hot Dogs 🌭. Head over to El Guero Canelo or BK Carne Asada & Hot Dogs to indulge in these mouthwatering delights. The combination of savory hot dogs topped with beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of mouthwatering sauces will leave you craving for more! If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, you must visit DURANT’S. This historic Phoenix restaurant is a true gem, serving up exquisite Porterhouse steaks, succulent lamb chops, and delectable chicken Oscar. Just a heads up, it’s not exactly a vegan-friendly spot, but trust me, it’s worth every bite!

Though you may have driven me crazy at times, I am grateful for your unwavering belief in my capabilities and your dedication to improving my skills, character, and leadership abilities.

Your unwavering faith in my ability to start my own business, combined with your prayers and encouragement, have propelled me forward.
