We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolyn Anger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In the fast-paced world of advertising and digital marketing, everything is constantly evolving. To keep up, remaining open to learning new things is crucial. My career has taught me that ongoing education is essential, and a willingness to embrace new knowledge is valuable within the workplace and beyond. I’ve also learned the importance of collaboration. Working together and integrating diverse perspectives powers innovation, fosters creativity and enables everyone to benefit from each other’s strengths.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Throughout my career at ad agencies, I maintained a portfolio of freelance clients outside of my 9 to 5 job. This allowed me to experience the value of collaborative client relationships. I was able to partner with them closely, consider their goals, and weave their input into the work we did together. In 2016 I felt like I had the knowledge and experience to venture out on my own and knew that working with clients full time was where I wanted to be.

What sets Fayte Marketing apart is our customer service, consistent, high-quality work and our focus on metrics. Without the constraints of the departmental structures you would find at a larger company, we focus on offering a mix of services tailored to each client. We also recognize the value of thoughtful strategy and we have a unique client onboarding system that helps us clearly define the way we position our client’s products and services right from the start.

To keep us accountable, we invest in tools that track our performance and measure our effectiveness. It’s important that we bring value to our clients and help grow and advance their businesses in a meaningful way. Having the freedom to approach things differently, I’ve realized that creativity along with a strong customer focus really matters in a world full of digital sound.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona has some of the best resorts in the country. Whether you want to get away for a staycation or spend some time at the spa, there are a plethora of options. My favorite resort is the Boulders Resort in Carefree. When you’re there, it feels like a true escape, even though it’s not a far drive from Phoenix.

I’m from Phoenix and grew up going to Arcadia Farms Cafe. It’s a quaint lunch spot in Old Town Scottsdale and also has a marketplace with to-go meals. If you’re looking for a good iced tea on a summer day, AJ’s and LGO don’t disappoint. They also have unique retail areas if you’re looking for a special gift or something for yourself.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Grandpa immigrated to the United States from Turin, Italy. Arriving without knowing any English and facing the challenge of making ends meet, he and his family bravely persevered to build a new life for themselves in Chicago, IL.

Harnessing the power of hard work, a value my grandpa upheld throughout his life, he earned a scholarship to Northwestern University. Graduating second in his class with a degree in accounting, this achievement showed his determination and commitment to building a better future. After graduation, he became a successful CPA, continuing to work well into his 90s.

When I started my business in 2016, his excitement reinforced my belief that I had made the right choice. His encouragement and advice have been invaluable, and I will carry his guidance with me throughout my career.

His power of believing in others extended beyond just me. He championed my mom to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer. She, too, is my role model, embodying the values he instilled in both of us.
