We had the good fortune of connecting with cartier taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi cartier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To be quite honest, I started Deathbosses Brand at around the pandemic time when the world was sitting still, I began this brand by working from home in Detroit (Spring 2021). I was working 5 hour days in my landscaping job Wiley And Son .while also learning photoshop more and talking to the community within social and streetwear community; I give my dedication and time to. between work, learning and grieving, I needed an outlet. I am an introverted extrovert and have realized that I love being with family and friends yet when the pandemic took that away I had to adjust in my way of not being able to see my core group as I did before.

I always had a opion on fashion so to find my passion back so on March 26th, 2021, I created a streetwear brand; DeathBosses. The Deathbosses is a luxury streetwear brand that started with me and is now rapidly growing into a Professional Luxury StreetWear Brand the ages of 18 to 40 who have embodied the new normal” Black Streetwear”.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
the DeathBosses Brand is to craft and curate content with Luxury Streetwear & Experiences both Black-owned as well as mainstream. I want the world to know that with Forwarding thinking, Social Presence, and Representation;

those are only a few of what society has defined as acceptable.

Representation matters whether it’s within the communities we serve, the workspaces that employ us, or the Luxuries we like to indulge.

The core value of my brand is to help change the way you look at different pieces and society to thrive at our own level despite what society portrays , despite what age we are, and despite what success or luxury is traditionally viewed as.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
can’t give up! This is what I tell myself every day when I look in the mirror. Before I go out and conquer the world outside my home or even on social media; I can’t give up. It is true, that we are our biggest critics but, it is only because we become our own competition.

I have had to overcome many challenges for the Deathbosses Brand such as financial stability of the brand .continuously outsourcing to create partnerships locally and partner with influencers. i Hope one day i can open my own stand along store .It starts at home in Detroit
