We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlotte Mandeville and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlotte, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty.

Honesty is what drives me, brutally, bitterly and sometimes risky.
Even in situations where it’s best to lie, I choose to be honest. Being honest doesn’t always get you where you want. However it will help get you to where you should be. If lying got you everything you wanted. You’ve probably stepped on or over a lot of people to get there. Success is only sweet when you take those you care about with you on the journey. Not using them as a stepladder like so many have done in the community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m rather a jack of all trades. I have dipped my hands in to about everything I can get them on. Acting, stunt doubling, dance, singing, modelling, runway, music and more.

I’ll always remember a moment in my life where a person saw one of my very first shoots and told me point blank. “You’ll never be successful, you know that right?” At the time I was dating this person and the dynamic was very much a put her down and she will stay complacent. Funny enough, it pushed me to do everything I can to the best of my abilities.

Right now I’m into press for red carpet events such as Arizona Film Makers, Terror Trader Horror Con Gathering of the Ghouls, Deaf Nation World Expo and many others up my sleeve. I’m working towards more interactive events where I speak with real people attending. Not just the celebrities and performers.

The key to my success? I’ll be fully honest. I’m a bitch, I’ve built everything off of just doing whatever I want, saying what I want and you take it or leave it. I tell people to eat a bag of dicks and flip the bird on the daily. I just really stopped caring. I say everything with honesty or I say nothing at all. I use to try to be so perfect and say everything so politically correct. Be this person everyone wanted me to be. It’s shit, it drives you mad.

I woke up one day and decided, I’m just going to do whatever I want. I’m so happy with who I am now. My brand? Just being authentically me. It’ll rub you the right or wrong way and I just don’t care.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Stacy’s on Melrose, it used to be a goth bar in the 80’s. They had a dance night with music on Wednesday. That tradition is still kept alive. Every Wednesday at 8pm the floor floods with alternative goth music we have a number of resident djs, the drinks are plenty and the vibes are chill.

On other nights the bar turns into performing and theme nights. It’s a staple in the Melrose district and I cherish it dearly. If you haven’t been and the gothic music scene isn’t your thing check out the other nights and soak in the history of this place.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whitney Wagner, amazing friend, coworker, boss babe and the light in a very dark place, where you’ll find us acting like goblins talking about olives and the perfect martini.
