We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Isabella and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Chill X Chel came from me seeing a need for more safe spaces that brought creatives together. I always say if you don’t see it, create it. After Covid, I really looked within and looked at the things I enjoyed doing that I felt could become profitable. One of those things was throwing events that really gave people a customized experience that they couldn’t get anywhere and that advocated for connection, community and conversation.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Chill X Chel hosts roaming events around the valley that brings creatives together. I host events ranging from networking to vendor to now performer/open mic events. I feel like what sets Chill X Chel from other event planning services is the amount of heart and intention that goes into each event. From the people I work with to the unique themes I have for each of my events—I think it really stands out. The road to get here has come with its challenges. Some of those challenges including getting people engaged with what I’m doing, funding for my events, ensuring everything is as organized and runs smoothly as possible.
I want people to know and take away from Chill X Chel is community. Chill X Chel events have really created community for so many creatives and business owners thus far and will continue to do so with the unique events.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First off attending any Chill X Chel event! Some of my favorite spots in Phoenix are Stardust Pin Bar, Hula’s, Killer Whale Sexclub to name a few!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout to one of my favorite artists Russ. He too built his business from the ground up with his music on his own. Both his music and his book, “It’s All in Your Head,” inspired me a lot on my journey. Reminding me that you have to be your biggest fan, and really believe in your craft and vision before anyone else can really get behind it. Also reminds me to never give up even when you don’t blow up as fast as you thought you would. Forget the timing, it’s all about the journey.
