We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheri Naudin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheri, what do you attribute your success to?
Collegiate Sports Advocate was founded by Cheri Naudin after her own 3 Student Athletes went through the process and she discovered each had their own path that included different sports, academic success and athletic talent! During their journey Cheri saw many other companies that provide services in the Athletic Recruiting space just care about the sign up and the gimmicks that they offered. She was unable to find ANY OTHER service that focused on what was best for the Student Athlete. CSA was founded in July of 2015 with the strategy of making each Student Athlete their own individual path and guiding parent through the recruiting process. CSA stays with the Student Athlete until their GRADUATE COLLEGE!.

In college the Athletes are challenged with the ever-changing rules and changes made by the NCAA. In college the Athletes are challenged with harder Athletic requirements and challenging Academic expectations. There are rules, regulations and interpersonal dynamics that they have never faced. CSA is just a phone call away!

When you focus on what is best for the Individual Student Athlete EVERYONE wins, the Athlete, the Parents, the Club, the College! It’s a more personal approach and it makes for a better FIT!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Cheri Naudin spent over 28 years in the telecommunications industry and even owned her own Executive Recruiting Firm. She clearly has the experience to match skill sets for professionals.

CSA is a very systematic, structure company and have applied the many years of Corporate America training and techniques. We teach the Student Athlete’s life skills like Time Management, Communication Skills and Accountability Skills. CSA is infamous for their annual 30 Days of Yoga that helps all Athletes to relax, repair, replenish and breath!

One of the biggest compliments we receive from College Coaches each year is that our Student Athletes have been prepared mentally, with life skills and athletic techniques that make them prepared for the next level.

What differentiates CSA from the others is our focus on the INDIVIDUAL and getting RESULTS,  not the gimmicks or slick apps that provide marketing messages that fuel the emotions of the parents but get no RESULTS!

We focus on the results. Commitments and their graduation from College is the basis of our Annual Business Plan! You will not find a company with our success and dedication to the actual commitment and completion of becoming successful Student Athletes. We focus on the next 40 years so there is a lot of experience and guidance towards their academic and athletic match.

You’ll see our commitment to being Committed, Genuine, Consultative, Coaching, Customized, Connected, Dynamic and Prepared throughout all steps of our process!

Collegiate Sports Advocate has committed 346 Student Athletes in 6 years from 37 States, 51 Clubs and multiple sports.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Cheri was born in Bisbee and spent her first 3 years in Tucson. Her father was a football player in the early 60’s at the University of Arizona. Many of her relatives are in the Prescott area where her grandfather was raised. Her mother lives in the Lakeside area. One of her favorite things to do is eat at the unique restaurants in Bisbee and loves to take the walk through the 1000 steps in the Bisbee area. Cheri has strong Arizona roots even though she spent most of her life growing up in SoCal and then the last 14 years in Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Collegiate Sports Advocate was founded by Cheri and her son Nick Naudin. Nick has since become a sub-contractor where he has his own Video Production company and has expanded to promotion videos not just skill videos for Athletes. Her husband is a Nationally known Softball Coach with many National Titles. Chanin Naudin Billings, her daughter played Softball at Kansas and for Team Mexico and is in her 5th year as a Head Coach. Her youngest, Chele played Soccer in College and won a Conference Title and then graduated Baylor Law School. She is practicing law with a major firm in Dallas. Clearly it is a Family effort with all of their family experiences and contributions today.

You’ll hear the Advocates that work for CSA mention quite frequently that the CSA system has been built on College Coach feedback. We clearly do whatever types of training that prepare the athletes for success.

One of Cheri’s favorite books is “The Coddling of the American Mind” by Greg Kukianoff and Jonathan Haidt where it outlines the intentions and bad ideas that have set up a generation of behaviors that are making Adulting very difficult especially in the selection of a university. The Sports Families clearly fall into these behaviors as they go above and beyond for the pursuit but have missed developing some independent behaviors.
