We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheryl Nance and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cheryl, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I felt that God had given me a purpose and a gift to share and even though this is not my first attempt at starting a business, I sensed that God was prompting me to continue on with this idea of creating natural products from what He provided in nature for His people!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am just getting started in this business! I am 67 years old and have retired twice! I have worked all my life and don’t plan to quit anytime soon! I developed a strong work ethic over the years from watching my Dad! He taught me that if you can learn to do anything, correctly, from the start, it won’t be hard to develop good habits that last a lifetime! I do that in formulating my products! I want to create products that help people feel good on the outside but, more importantly, I also want to create relationships with people and inspire them to do what makes them feel good on the inside!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well that would definitely be a challenge for me! I have been busy working ever since I came to this area in 2002! I love the landscape here in Arizona so I definitely want to go to Sedona for a day and do sightseeing and maybe some hiking! I really enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the Japanese Friendship Garden so we would have to go there! I love the Mexican cuisine out here so we would go to El Charro Hipster for a meal and maybe some music! I have always wanted to spend some time at one of the resorts here and take advantage of some of the beauty and body treatments in the spa, so a Day of Beauty is definitely on the list, as well! We would have to plan this for a ‘First Friday’ in downtown Phoenix to experience a night of culture and art!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, first and foremost, God, my heavenly Father because He blessed me with certain abilities and the desire for creating my products and then to Tina Marie and the Bridge Builders Social Club for their amazing encouragement and support and for providing the business education that was needed to start my business!! Special mention to my Mom, Gertrude Joseph, who taught me the importance of skin care!
