We had the good fortune of connecting with Christen Neikirk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christen, how do you define success?
Success is not defined by how much revenue you generate, but rather how you are able to use the gifts God has given you to impact and bless those around you.
What should our readers know about your business?
Etch & Lace is a passionate husband and wife team based in Goodyear, dedicated to transforming ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art. With a shared background in graphic design, we bring a dynamic creative energy to our craft, making us a formidable duo in the world of laser-etched products.
At Etch & Lace, we specialize in the art of laser etching, breathing life into wood, leather, cork, and slate. Our meticulous attention to detail and innovative designs result in products that go beyond the ordinary. We believe in adding a creative twist to each piece we create, infusing it with character and personalization. The perfect gift is one that tells a story and leaves a lasting impression. Our dedication to this vision shines through in every product we craft. Furthermore, our faith plays a significant role in our creative journey, and you’ll find its inspiring touch evident in many of our designs.
Etch & Lace has expanded its presence to several esteemed retail stores throughout the valley. We invite you to visit Screws & Sparkles in downtown Buckeye, Arie Layne Boutique in Goodyear, Retail Therapy AZ in Westgate, and The Merchantile in Uptown Phoenix. Each location offers a curated selection of our handcrafted treasures.
As a company, our story is deeply intertwined with love, faith, and growth. Our paths first crossed 25 years ago on the bustling streets of Mill Avenue in Tempe, AZ. While our initial plans took unexpected turns, God played an integral role in shaping us individually and deepening our friendship beyond imagination. Years later, we were blessed with a beautiful marriage, two delightful daughters, Vivian and Lyla, and a few furry companions 🐾. Our business thrives from the comfort of our home, serving as a testament to the incredible journey we’ve embarked on together.
We are so thankful for all of the support we have received, and we invite you to explore the world of Etch & Lace, where craftsmanship, faith, and love converge.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to show a friend an amazing time here in Arizona, I would start by taking them on a memorable journey to Sedona. The unparalleled beauty of the red rocks in that area is truly awe-inspiring and unlike anything you’ve ever seen. We would embark on a breathtaking hike through the West Fork Trail, immersing ourselves in the captivating scenery. I would introduce them to one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Picazzos.
Next, our adventure would lead us to the charming city of Flagstaff. Exploring the vibrant Downtown area with its delightful shops and local attractions is a must-do. One place I always recommend visiting is the renowned Mother Road Brewing Company, where we can savor some incredible craft beers. As the day winds down, a visit to Lowell Observatory would be perfect for marveling at the stars above.
Of course, a trip to Arizona wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the majestic Grand Canyon. Driving along the South Rim, we would witness the awe-inspiring views that are truly one of a kind. The grandeur of this natural wonder will leave an indelible mark on our memories.
Upon returning to Phoenix, I would take my friend to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. As the oldest and largest botanical garden in Arizona, it’s a serene and rejuvenating place to connect with nature.
To cap off our adventure-filled day, we would head to downtown Phoenix to explore the vibrant dining scene. There are plenty of options to choose from, and some of my top recommendations include The Vig, The Arrogant Butcher, Cornish Pasty, and Cibo.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
