We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine (Kiki) Winkler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine (Kiki), we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
To always stay consistent: Once you find a way to focus and generate leads in real estate it’s super important to stay consistent. For me I have always worked open houses (2-4 weekly for the last year), send monthly newsletters to my network and regularly post on social media. Over time that will eventually develop into a lead and continue to build your business from there. Without doing it consistently, you will not see results.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always had a lot of drive when it comes to career. At age 18 I moved to London for a semester and took on an internship abroad in Public Relations and from there lived in Los Angeles and New York City. Working with people drives me and I always cherish what I learn from others. I love design and style so when I decided to move to Scottsdale with my husband, I pivoted careers into luxury real estate and design. My career change at this stage of life has been challenging, but I remember how difficult it was in my early days as a PR intern in fashion and use that mindset for today – you need a thick skin, drive, discipline and to keep believing in yourself. To stay positive and motivated I make sure to have weekly check ins with my team, attend all brokerage meetings possible, network with locals, stick to my health routine and remember to stay patient because eventually the hard work and consistency pays off.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends can advocate that I am obsessed with booking reservations and planning trips, so this is a fun exercise for me. I would take my best friend to some of my favorite restaurants like Cafe Monarch, Rokerij/Richardson’s, The Mission, Elements at Sanctuary, Ocean 44, Francine, Etta and Lon’s at Hermosa Inn. I would suggest that they stay at one of my favorite hotels such as The Phoenician, The Royal Palms, Mountain Shadows, Sanctuary, or Hermosa Inn. I would schedule a few fun activities such as hikes, horseback riding, tennis lessons, or a round of golf. If we want to go to a local workout class I’d book a spin class at The Madison Improvement Club with my favorite instructor Stephanie or pilates at The Body Lab. To show them some of the old Scottsdale culture I’d take them to live music at The Rusty Spur or a rodeo at Buffalo Chip in Cave Creek. We could go shopping in Scottsdale Quarter followed by lunch at Zinc or Etta. If we want to pamper ourselves I would book us a spa treatment at the Omni Montelucia Hotel’s Spa.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am very thankful for my team (AZ Luxury Home Group at Launch Real Estate) and mentors Jennifer Kourouglos and Samantha Moore. I moved to Scottsdale from New York City with an extensive background in luxury marketing and public relations with hopes of becoming a luxury real estate agent. The last two years have been extremely difficult to tap into a new career during the unprecedented economic times that we are experiencing. It has been a long journey but they have been there for me every step of the way including when I was studying for my exam, made my transition into my new career and helping me groom and grow into a successful agent.

I also am so thankful for my supportive family and husband who pushes me every day and continues to motivate me in the hardest times.
