Meet Christine Vartanian | Personal Style Expert & Business Styling Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Vartanian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I live and breathe a creative lifestyle. My prior careers were not in the creative space at all, rather they were quite technical. I am a civil engineer and an attorney, turned Personal Style Expert & Business Styling Consultant and founder of jade. HOUSE of STYLE. You can say I took the scenic route to my current career. After practicing law for five years out of law school, I decided to stay home and care for my children as a stay-at-home mom. During the ten years of being at home with my children, I witnessed so many of my peers, other moms, depleting themselves in the name of doing it all for everyone in their lives. They were working in and out of the home, caring for family, getting involved in community and so much more. However, when it came to their own self-care, they neglected it. They would not get dressed up or freshen up their makeup or go for that run, because they had little gas left in the tank for any of this after working so hard for everyone else. My mission became to prove to them that they can be everything for everyone, but that they can also carve out time for themselves to self-care, get dressed up, and look and feel beautiful on the outside as they were on the inside. This is what prompted my styling company. It was started in service to women who do it all, all day long. I was determined to show them how to look and feel great with ease and fun. I was going to become their fairy godmother.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I, Christine Vartanian am the Founder, CEO, and Senior Stylist of jade. HOUSE of Style. I am also the creator and host of the podcast Waist Up Wardrobe® that streams live every week and has published over 110 episodes to date! I work with 6, 7 and 8 figure entrepreneurs offering them a full portfolio of services essential to building a cohesive personal brand and a standout business brand.
I specialize in creating unique and impactful visual identities for clients that boost their bottom line. My prior careers as an engineer and an attorney inform my attention to detail and understanding of the professional and business workplace.
Being multilingual coupled with my upbringing in Egypt offer me a diverse and unique international prospective on culture and brands. Simply said, I give a client’s brand a face, a voice and a presence. My signature approach to packaging the client’s web of assets changes the way they show up for themselves, the way they show up for their companies and the way their companies show up in the marketplace.
I am proud of creating a place where clients can come to as a one stop shop for the entire brand packaging and vision. The jade. HOUSE of style houses all the suites necessary to build a standout brand and it’s very rewarding to provide this for clients.
Getting to this place has taken me ten years in the making. I have continued to grow year after year and started the company on a shoestring. I was met with many naysayers, but I quickly overcame their skepticism by showing visible success. Slowly but surely the business model proved its staying power and demand. I overcame the down days and the naysayers by staying resiliently connected to my WHY and purpose. Anytime I felt an energy of defeat, all I had to do was remind myself that I was creating a place where entrepreneurs can get help sharpening their image and elevating their brand and in turn impacting their profits and bottom-line just by polishing their image and this kept me going.
I have learned that if you keep your eye on your WHY you will never fail in business, because your WHY keeps you going. I have learned that humility in business is the number one character trait you need to serve people. I have learned that when you build trust, rapport and lead with love and kindness people gravitate to you and want you to work with them. I have learned that sometimes to be really good at your life’s work, you may have to take a long scenic journey there.
My brand and story are about leading with a loving heart of service, being creative and having fun during the process. It is about showing clients that having a stylish brand and image is fun and when you have more fun, you make more money!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing I would do with a visiting friend is invite them into my home and cater lunch from Zinc Cafe, a popular lunching spot. My home is a complete sanctuary. It has a quaint backyard intentionally designed with concentric circles, because everything looks better in a circle. It is an English garden. My entire home is a sanctuary with every corner designed with a labor of love. People walk into my home and immediately sense the positive energy.
I would make sure that we dine at some of the best spots in and around Newport Beach, including “A” Restaurant, Mastros Ocean Club, “CDM” Restaurant, Gulfstream, Nobu, Red O – seven restaurants for seven days.
Lido Marina Village would be a midday stop, where we would stroll and then take a duffy boat ride in the harbor.
Fashion Island, the most popular mall in Newport beach would be a shopping spot to explore.
A day at the beach would be a must, as the weather and vibe in Newport is the best in the world.
We would spend at least one day in Laguna Beach and lunch at The Montage Laguna where the views, the sunset and the service are the epitome of luxury and beauty.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a member of Pinnacle Global Network. They are my mentors in business. Specifically, Allison Maslan the founder of the organization and Lacey Haegan my direct mentor. They are the wind beneath my wings.
Also noteworthy is my show runner, Rick Moscoso for my podcast waistUPwardrobe® who has played a tremendous role in my marketing and technical support.
My sister and best friend, Caroline Cecil who has guided my start up business strategy and has always been the moral support for the business.
My husband, John Vartanian, DDS who gives me the freedom to always go for what I want!
My mother, Astrid Kamal, who is the underlying why and purpose to my desire to serve women.
My children, Christopher, Isabelle, Giselle & Nico for being my inspiration and constructive critics. They have watched me grow the business and have asked the hard questions that helped me uplevel everyday.
