We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up in AZ and then moving to the East Coast, my eyes were opened to the amazing world of gourmet cheese, artisan goodies and wine while working in a specialty wine & cheese shop. Friends and family always were commenting on my presentation of whatever appetizer or dish I made for the party and that combined with my entrepreneurial spirit and creative side got me thinking about creating my own business when I returned to AZ!

What should our readers know about your business?
Having my oldest daughter when I was young and then meeting my husband later in life I never anticipated having issues with growing our family. Years of trying and multiple losses brought us to IVF. During this journey my husband and I would frequently stop after an appointment at the Purple Finch Cafe. We were living in NH at the time and learned the state bird is the Purple Finch! Fast forward through more losses and the end of our IVF journey to end up with 6 years of trying and 7 losses. Just as we thought we were at the end of our journey we ended up having two miracle babies and completing our family with…“There Purple Finch”!

The pairing of a French Triple Crème with golden local honey to Cave Aged Gouda with candied pineapple makes your taste buds dance! My Creativity flows onto these charcuterie boards resulting in a visually stunning presentation and a mouth watering experience!

Being a small start up business I am learning as I go! Thanks to the wonderful people in my life I have a lot of support and am excited for the future of Three Purple Finch!
