Meet Courtney Stevenson | Full-time Notary Public

We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Stevenson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what do you attribute your success to?
Excellent, friendly and creative customer service

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I first became a notary, it wasn’t out of passion. For two years, it was a part-time role I took on after seeing the success my wife was having. But everything changed when I received a severance package from my employer. That moment forced me to make a decision—and it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I was pushed into full-time notary work, and from that day on, I hit the ground running and never looked back. It was a leap of faith that led me to a profession that excites me every day: connecting with and helping people.
My perspective completely shifted during the challenging times of the pandemic. As I met with clients, I began to see a reflection of myself in each person. They weren’t just names on a document; they were individuals seeking clarity and a smooth process. They wanted to be educated and enlightened, not lectured. They wanted top-quality service at a fair price and to connect with their service provider on a personal level. This realization transformed my approach from transactional to deeply personal. It became my mission to provide a service that was both professional and empathetic.
One of the biggest turning points came during a real estate signing. I had always felt rushed and at the mercy of the clock, but that day, I realized something critical: **I was in control.** I had the power to manage the length of my appointments and ensure every client felt comfortable and fully informed. Once I took ownership of that process, my business—and my confidence—soared. I learned that efficiency and excellent customer service go hand-in-hand, and that the quality of service is the cornerstone of a successful business.
What I’m most proud of today isn’t just the success of my business, but the success I’ve helped others achieve. I created a training and mentoring system to address a clear problem I saw in the industry: people charging exorbitant fees for subpar training. I wanted to help aspiring notaries get started without taking shortcuts or being taken advantage of. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be a part of the foundational training for several notaries who have gone on to build successful careers of their own.
My journey has taught me that the best way to build a business is by prioritizing people. Whether it’s a client or a mentee, the core of my work remains the same: provide excellent service, offer high-quality guidance, and build a connection. My professional life is no longer just about signing documents; it’s about making a positive impact, one interaction at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve visited Cardinals Stadium once for a football game, and a few choice restaurants. I spend the majority of my time with friends and family.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
