We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Meriwether and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Craig, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One of the biggest factors behind the success of Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy is helping people understand what clinical hypnotherapy really is. Many people still associate hypnosis with stage shows, but therapeutic hypnosis is actually a safe, research-supported approach that works with the subconscious mind—where many emotional patterns, habits, and stress responses are formed.

As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, I’ve spent over a decade helping clients overcome anxiety, stress, trauma, low confidence, and unwanted habits. Hypnotherapy helps people enter a deeply relaxed state where the mind becomes more receptive to positive change, allowing them to release old patterns and develop healthier responses.

At Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy, my focus is creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to heal emotionally and mentally. Whether working with clients locally in Arizona or worldwide through Zoom, the goal is simple: help people experience real, lasting transformation.

What should our readers know about your business?
Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy was created with a simple mission: to help people access the power of their own minds to heal, grow, and create lasting change. Many of the challenges people struggle with, anxiety, stress, unwanted habits, low confidence, or lingering emotional blocks, are rooted in subconscious patterns. Clinical hypnotherapy provides a safe and effective way to work with the subconscious mind so those patterns can begin to shift.

Through Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy, I work with clients who want to overcome anxiety, improve confidence, release limiting beliefs, and develop healthier mental and emotional patterns. Hypnosis is not about losing control; it’s about entering a focused, relaxed state where the mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and new perspectives. In that state, people can begin to rewire old thought patterns and replace them with more supportive ones.

I work with clients locally in Arizona as well as people across the country through online hypnotherapy sessions over Zoom. My goal is always to create a supportive and empowering environment where clients feel comfortable exploring change at their own pace. When people learn how to work with their subconscious mind rather than against it, the results can be truly transformative.

Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy is also part of a broader wellness vision. Together with my wife Kristina’s work in massage therapy at Northern Arizona Massage and Wellness in Flagstaff, we’re able to offer complementary approaches that support both mental and physical well-being for our community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Flagstaff has lots to do if someone were visiting for a week. I’d probably start the mornings slowly with coffee at Late for the Train or tea at Steep Leaf Lounge. If they happened to be visiting on the first Saturday of the month, we’d definitely stop by the bake sale at SHIFT Kitchen & Bar, a little bit of a secret only Flagstaffians know about.

We would hiking at Mars Hill or make the short trip out to Red Mountain, which looks like something from another planet. We’d also make time for Arizona Snowbowl. Skiing if it were winter or for a hike if it were summer. We’d also play a round of disc golf at Fort Tuthill County Park.

For dinner we’d stop at Josephine’s Modern American Bistro. But I also love SoSoBa and Asia Station. Happy hour at Pita Jungle is great for small bites and inexpensive drinks. Somewhere in the week we’d shop for books at Bookmans, one of the best bookstores in Arizona.

You do need time to relax so I’d also bring them by Northern Arizona Massage and Wellness for a float tank session and massage which is a great way to reset.

And of course, no visit to Flagstaff would be complete without going up to Lowell Observatory to see the stars up close. Flagstaff is the world’s first International Dark Sky City, and seeing the stars through a telescope really reminds you how incredible this place is.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One person who deserves a tremendous amount of credit in my journey is my wife, Kristina. We’ve been married for 34 years, and throughout that time she has been an incredible source of support, encouragement, and belief in me. When I decided later in life to pivot my career and pursue training as a clinical hypnotherapist, she was one of the first people to tell me to go for it. Changing directions professionally can be intimidating, but Kristina never doubted that helping people through hypnotherapy was something I was meant to do.

Kristina has spent more than 30 years as a massage therapist and has always been deeply committed to helping people heal and feel better physically and emotionally. Watching the impact she has had on her clients over the years was actually one of the inspirations behind my own path into the healing arts. She understands the value of holistic wellness and has always believed that true healing often involves both the mind and the body.

Together we opened Northern Arizona Massage and Wellness in Flagstaff, where Kristina provides therapeutic massage and I offer hypnotherapy sessions through Arizona Integrative Hypnotherapy. It’s incredibly meaningful to be able to serve our community together, combining mind-body approaches to health and wellness. None of it would have happened without Kristina’s belief in me, and I’m grateful every day for the partnership we share, both in life and in the work we do to help others.
